On January 21, 2021, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved Liangshan Prefecture to adjust the administrative divisions of Puge county and other seven counties (cfzm [2021] No. 1): the administrative areas of sedi village, wusilou village and Yin amo village in yuansedi Township were put under the jurisdiction of buyue Township, and the people's government of buyue township was stationed at No. 76, group 2, Shiluo village.

Buyue township is under the jurisdiction of Zhaojue County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It was founded in 1951, renamed buyue commune in 1972, and set up in 1984.

Buyue township is located in the north of the county, 30 kilometers away from the county. It covers an area of 40.4 square kilometers and has a population of 2000. It has jurisdiction over four village committees, namely Shiluo, buquluo, ajuli and buqusanpu.

Buyue Township mainly produces potato, buckwheat and oats.
