Puji town is located in the south of Puge County, 74 kilometers away from Xichang City in the northwest. It has always been the main traffic route of Sichuan and Yunnan provinces. In the Ming Dynasty, Puge village was set up. From the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, Han people from other places moved in. In the Jiaqing period, Puge farm was set up. After the fifth year of Daoxing, Puge Xun was set up. In the end of Guangxu, Ningyuan government moved to Puge. Puge township was set up in the third year of Xuantong. Puge county was set up in the early Republic of China, and Puge district was set up after the third year of the Republic of China. In the 35th year of the Republic of China, Puge was set up as the governing Bureau and Pu'an town. Puge county was established in 1952. In 1986, monosodium glutamate factory introduced the international advanced production technology of chicken fresh monosodium glutamate, and developed and produced chicken fresh condiment and chicken fresh monosodium glutamate by using the unique mountain native chicken, black bone chicken and their fresh eggs in Liangshan as raw materials. It was listed as the state "spark" science and technology project. In 1987, it won the state excellent new product title.
