Qiaowa town is a town under the jurisdiction of Muli Tibetan Autonomous County, located in the southeast of the county, with an area of 240.37 square kilometers and a population of 21983 (2017). Historical evolution
In 1953, Bo'ao township was established. In 1972, the commune was changed. In 1983, Bo'ao township was restored. In 1984, qiaowa town was built. Qiaowa town is also the residence of the people's Government of Muli Tibetan Autonomous County, in the southeast of the county, 254 kilometers east of Xichang City highway. The town covers an area of 1 square kilometer and governs 6 residents committees and 32 residents groups. In 1953, it was the residence of the second district office and Bo'ao township government. In 1961, the county government moved from Wachang to bowa town. In 1984, bowa town was built and later changed its name to qiaowa town. In the 1970s, there were only two streets in the town. In 1990, there were No. 5 and No. 2 streets. There are 720 houses of various types in the city, with a total building area of 29.22 million square meters, of which private houses account for 110000 square meters, and the per capita living area of the town is 1369 square meters.

Qiowa town is the business and industrial center of Muli County. Muli is a famous yak meat and skin producing area in the prefecture. Its Chinese medicinal materials include musk, Fritillaria, pilose antler, Cordyceps sinensis and so on, which are sold all over the province. Among the local products, Tricholoma matsutake is the main product, with an annual profit of 1 million yuan, which is sold to Japan and Hong Kong markets. In the industry, gold and wood are well-known both inside and outside the province. There are forest industry, rosin, building materials, food and other industrial enterprises in the town, and seabuckthorn series products are developed by the county food factory, which is listed as the provincial "spark plan" project. In 1990, the largest Muli pulp mill in the province was built, with an annual pulp production capacity of more than 10000 tons. Muli County is the only Tibetan Autonomous County in the prefecture with unique ethnic customs. He believes in the Yellow religion of Tibetan Buddhism.
