Gongquan town
Gongquan Town, located in the north of Gongxian County, is the second largest town in Gongxian County. It is adjacent to Shuanghe Town, Changning County, Sichuan Province in the East, Didong Town, Gongxian County in the south, Hengfeng Town, Gongxian County in the West and Xunchang Town, Gongxian County in the north. Covering an area of 102.93 square kilometers, the town governs 7 communities (including 3 rural communities) and 20 agricultural villages, with a total population of 41260 (2017), including Miao, Hui, Tujia and other ethnic minorities. The terrain fluctuates greatly, the terrain is high in the South and low in the north, and the territory has a subtropical humid climate, with a forest coverage rate of 45%; the mineral resources are rich, with many types, mainly coal, iron, limestone and basalt; there are tourism resources such as Shunan hot spring, xiangfengfeng, Hehuachi, baihewo cave group, Qilin temple, Shunan underground palace, etc. Yiwei road passes through the territory, and Luopu river is the main stream in the territory.

In September 1992, the administrative division was adjusted with the approval of the provincial government, which was formed by the merger of Zhoucun, Fucheng Township and the former Gongquan town.
In 1997, the county moved northward and became the second largest town in Gongxian County, which has been included in the construction planning of secondary central city in southern Sichuan.

Gongquan town is known as the "hometown of Gongshi" because of its fine, smooth texture, black and bright light. In hot summer, it is cold and comfortable to touch it with hands. The formation of Davidia involucrata has a history of 200 million years. It is buried in the soil. Small Davidia involucrata can be found on the surface of the soil, while large Davidia involucrata is not easy to find. Davidia involucrate is rich in asphaltene, carbonaceous limestone and marl, and some Davidia involucrate contains detritus of paleontological fossils. The hardness of Davidia involucrate stone ranges from 3.5 to 4. Because Davidia involucrate stone is fine in quality, and has good polishing and inking properties, people use the techniques of relief and hollowing out to make various finished products. The stone is often rubbed with flannelette, and the more it is rubbed, the brighter it is. The spindle carved with Gongshi unearthed from Han Tombs in Gongxian County (the stone is stored in Gongxian Cultural Relics Museum) fully shows that people used the production tools of Gongshi carving 2000 years ago.
GongDiao handicrafts are mainly inkstones, pen holders, characters, animals, landscape bonsai, etc., as well as plum, orchid, pine, bamboo and other decorative handicrafts, which are deeply loved by people. The tourism resources of Gongquan town are led by the hot spring in southern Sichuan, which is a provincial scenic spot. It has developed xiangfengfeng, Hehua pool, piaofengyan waterfall, Yuchi Water Development Zone, baihewo karst cave group, martyr cemetery, Qilin temple and other scenic spots. The underground palace in southern Sichuan, located in Badi village, is waiting for people of insight to come to develop. Gongquan town is rich in mineral resources with many types, mainly coal, iron, limestone and basalt. Coal is distributed in Dejiao, guantuo, Sanjiang, Xiaba, Badi and Zhangyong villages, with proven coal reserves of nearly 200 million tons. Iron ore is distributed in Sanjiang, Badi, Fengtian and Dejiao villages. Limestone runs through the town for more than ten kilometers and forms a small stone forest at the bottom of the dam Storage of high-quality ceramic soil, refractory clay ore, phosphate rock, lead ore, calcite, etc.
Economics
The main food crops in Gongquan town are rice, corn and wheat, the main economic crops are rapeseed, sugar, tea and cocoon, and the main animal husbandry is pig, white goose and black bone chicken. The three major industries of bamboo, tea and poultry have become the leading industries of prospering the town and enriching the people. In 2005, the GDP was 227.66 million yuan, the total income of rural economy was 169.4332 million yuan, the total grain output was 11483 tons, the local fiscal revenue was 3.67 million yuan, the investment capital was 6.5 million yuan, the per capita income of farmers was 3111 yuan, 28761 fattening pigs were sold, 1185 cocoons were purchased and 962 teas were produced.
The industrial enterprises in Gongquan town are mainly coal mining, chemical industry and building materials. The main enterprises are: Zhongzheng Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., Qingchang environmental protection Iron Industry Co., Ltd., Sanjiang building materials Co., Ltd., Shuntong Coal Industry Co., Ltd., Xuyang calcium Industry Co., Ltd., Shenghua economic and Trade Company, etc. in 2005, the total output value of the industrial enterprises in the town exceeded 800 million yuan.
In 2013, the GDP reached 1.2 billion yuan, an increase of 8% over the same period of 2012; the investment in fixed assets reached 96.41 million yuan, an increase of 61% over the same period of 2012; the per capita net income of farmers was 9400 yuan, an increase of 1296 yuan over the previous year.
Human history
Gongquan town was built in 1464, the eighth year of Tianshun reign of emperor Yingzong of Ming Dynasty. It was originally named in urban and rural areas. It was the seat of the county. It was renamed Wenju Township in 1745. In 1920, the township was abandoned as a district. In 1935, the township was changed to urban joint insurance. In 1947, the township was changed to urban township. In 1956, the township was changed to Chengguan town. In October 1958, the people's commune of Chengguan town was established. In 1981, the township was renamed Gongquan town. In 1992, the district was withdrawn and merged into Gongquan town.
Public welfare
Gongquan town has one senior high school, one junior high school and four primary schools with 7677 students and 335 teachers. There are 5 hospitals and health centers, 254 doctors and 100 beds. Program controlled telephone, PHS, broadband, mobile, Unicom and optical fiber TV have been opened, with convenient transportation, complete water and electricity facilities, and civil natural gas.
