Baocheng Township

Old town name. See Xishui town for details. Yuanbao urban and rural area is located in the hinterland of Shengzhong Reservoir in southern county of Sichuan Province. It is one of the heavily flooded towns. It is located in the northwest of southern county, 89 km away from the county seat. It is connected with Shengzhong town and Shengshui Town in the East, Liushu Township in the south, tiebian Xihe Township in the West and Shuangfeng Township in the north. It has a subtropical monsoon climate with four distinct seasons. The landform is mainly hilly, covering an area of 42.8 square kilometers, with 15 villages, 93 villager groups and a total population of 9082 (2017).

On October 29, 2019, Baosheng town and tiebian township will be abolished and Xishui town will be established. The administrative region of Xishui town will be the administrative region of the former Baosheng town and tiebian township. The people's Government of Xishui town is located at No. 2 xishuixia street.

Natural scenery

Baocheng township has beautiful scenery and is listed as the key ecological natural forest reserve in Sichuan Province. The vegetation area is 10246 mu, and the forest land coverage rate is 60%. Xiangzhu mountain stone geological scenic spot is the core scenic spot of Shengzhong Lake scenic spot, with stone landscape, cultural stone forest, and representative cultural art gallery in Sichuan. Shengzhong Reservoir traverses the whole territory of Baocheng. There are also historical sites of ancient Xishui County. Shengbao Uprising Memorial Hall and Shengtai Park attract many tourists. We will deepen the reform of taxes and fees in rural areas and reduce the burden on farmers. We will implement the grain subsidy policy and the policy of returning farmland to forests. On the basis of consolidating and stabilizing the comprehensive grain production capacity, efforts should be made to develop livestock and poultry, sericulture, peanut and aquaculture.

The total grain output in 2004 was 3296 tons. Among them, 699 tons of wheat, 73 tons of peas, 67 tons of cucurbit beans, 1181 tons of rice, 445 tons of sweet potato, 777 tons of corn, 54 tons of soybean, 0.8 tons of cotton, 313 tons of rape, 233 tons of peanuts, 777 tons of vegetables, 616 tons of green fodder. There were 11566 slaughter pigs and 1.1 per capita. Honey production of small poultry, livestock and poultry is 1176 kg, eggs 81400 kg, 1243 cattle, 3650 sheep, 1785 silkworms, cocoon production 54360 kg and average cocoon production 5 kg. Mulberry garden covers an area of 2071 mu. The orchard covers an area of 340 mu. The output of fruit is 130 tons, and the average output per person is 12 kg.

The number of labor export in the township has exceeded 4500, with an annual total income of 23.6 million yuan, accounting for 72% of the rural economic income. All round progress has been made in social undertakings. Baocheng township has two schools, 17 classes (including kindergartens), 1120 students, 55 teachers, 19 intermediate professional titles, 30 junior professional titles, 17 junior college students and 22 technical secondary school students.

In 2004, "the practice and exploration of the management of art education activity course in rural primary schools" won the second prize of the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China. He was rated as "advanced collective of school moral education" by the county, and won the first place in Shengzhong District in the comprehensive evaluation of sixth grade graduation examination of primary school, and the first, second and third places in Shengzhong District in the comprehensive evaluation of class. The results of single subject in mathematics were promoted to the first, second and third place in Zhongzhong district. It has a student apartment of 1200 square meters and 868 students.

The middle school covers an area of 20 mu, with 750 students, 12 classes, Grade 1-3, 28 teachers, 9 intermediate titles and 19 junior titles. To provide preventive health care and medical services to Baocheng Township, Shuangfeng Township, Xihe Township, tiebian Township, Shenba Township and other places, serving a population of 25000 people. With the corresponding function of "Trinity" of preventive health care, public health and basic medical treatment, it is developing to the hospital mode. In 2004, there were 105 inpatients and 22000 outpatients with an annual income of 450000 yuan.

Historical development

ZhangTian county was set up in the northern and Southern Dynasties, and Xishui County was changed in the first year of mindI (557) of the Northern Zhou Dynasty. In 1283, it was incorporated into Nanbu county. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, urban and rural areas were protected, covering an area of about 42 square kilometers. Baocheng town has basically preserved the old style, with two-story wooden structure buildings, green tile roofs and slate streets. At present, the Wenzu temple, an ancient building in the early Qing Dynasty, is well preserved. It is composed of Mountain Gate, Kuixing building, main hall, and wing room. The mountain gate and Kuixing building are integrated into one. It is a double eaves Xieshan style building with the title "Kangxi Wuwu (1678) restoration and reconstruction" on the beam. There is an ancient defense wall in the east of the school. It is a three side stone city of different sizes. It is 70 meters long from north to south, 50 meters long from east to west, 2.5 meters high, and 1.5 meters wide at the top.

One kilometer to the east of the site is yandui mountain, which is shuttle shaped in east-west direction. The East and the West face each other as horns. Together with the defense wall, it is a relic of the anti yuan war in the late Southern Song Dynasty. During the Shengbao uprising in 1932, a guerrilla squadron was set up to fight against local tyrants and evil gentry in Mengya temple. In 1933, a special branch was established, where the Fourth Front Army of the red army fought.

There is Xiangzhu mountain, with a large number of pebbles mixed in the rocks, where the rocks are jagged and in various shapes; or the stones are contiguous, folded and folded, with dog teeth uneven; or the scenery is independent, with different postures, lying quietly on the ground. It forms a unique natural landscape such as xianxiantian, Naihe bridge, Fengdong stone, yingzuishi, Xiangui worshiping Buddha, and Baxian pilgrimage. On the mountain, the trees are dense, the sun is covered with shade, and there are forest paths. Shengzhong Reservoir forms a broad lake in Baocheng. It is shimmering, dotted with islands, and the lake bank is winding. It's really green water, red hills, blue waves reflecting the sky, and boating in the lake. It's like being in a paradise.

On June 26, 2003, after the heavy rain, Xishui temple on the mountain ridge behind the township farm had been leveled for 10 months. A strange geological phenomenon, similar to the imprint of words, appeared on the ground. The local people called it "Tianshu", with more than 30 lines, more than 30 meters long and equidistant.

Folk activities

Baocheng township has its own characteristics in folk customs, culture and Art: the annual ancestor worship of Peng family in mengziya village; the Sichuan Opera in zaoerping village; the root art represented by Jing Honglin and Liu Zhengsong. Songjiaping village is rich in history and culture. It is popular for its lanterns, such as dragon lanterns, lions and stilts. It has root carving houses, such as song Kaixin and song imperial examination. It also has song ancestral hall, two old courtyards, dozens of exquisitely carved stele pavilions, ancient wells with sweet water quality, and wooden components removed from the famous ancient building "Guanting".

There are plaques of "Cai Chang Zuo Zheng" and seven large water tanks in the fifth year of Qianlong and the eleventh year of Jiaqing. In Dali Village, there are walls, gates, Caocao stones and stone bars. Near the top of the mountain, there are cliff tombs of the Eastern Han Dynasty and Niuwang temple on the top of the mountain. There are more than ten ancient trees, such as Menggu and Huanglian. In Baocheng primary school, there are two old cowpea trees with a height of more than 30 meters and a diameter of 1.5 meters. They were planted in front of the main gate of the Confucian Temple (built in the Kangxi period) in the Kangxi period. Three small cowpea trees have a history of nearly 100 years. It is a deciduous tree with luxuriant branches and leaves at the turn of spring and summer. In summer and autumn, it bears two feet long linear fruits like cowpea, so it is called "cowpea tree". This species is extremely rare.
