Tongren Township

Old town name. See Xinfu township for details. The former Tongren Township belongs to Shunqing District, Nanchong City, Sichuan Province. It is located in the southwest of the District, 17 kilometers away from the urban area, covering an area of 19.6 square kilometers. It has 9 villages under its jurisdiction, with a total of 5821 people (in 2017). The average altitude is 328 meters.

Agricultural production of rice, wheat, corn, sweet potato, and peanut, rapeseed, citrus. Silkworm and pig are the main breeding industries.

On September 3, 2019, according to the reform of township administrative divisions in Shunqing District, Tongren township was abolished and its administrative region was put under the jurisdiction of Xinfu township. Xinfu Township People's government is located at 34 Wenhua Road.

History of construction

Tongren township was established in 1950.

It was incorporated into Gongxing Township in 1992,

Tongren township was restored in 1994.

On September 3, 2019, according to the reform of township administrative divisions in Shunqing District, Tongren township was abolished and its administrative region was put under the jurisdiction of Xinfu township. After the adjustment, the streets and township offices are the original sites.

On June 19, 2009, Zhang Youhong, deputy director of Sericulture Institute and director of Nanchong comprehensive experimental station, was invited by Tongren township government of Shunqing District, Nanchong City, a pilot sericulture demonstration base, to participate in the spring sericulture production work summary and commendation and summer autumn sericulture training meeting of the whole Township in 2009. More than 80 sericulture technicians and large farmers from the whole Township attended the meeting. With the support of varieties, technology and funds provided by our institute, Tongren spring silkworm has good quality of mulberry leaves, good disinfection and disease prevention, joint rearing of all small silkworms, labor-saving silkworm rearing on platform, square cluster on cluster, high yield and good quality of single cocoon, which is highly praised by cocoon collecting enterprises. The highest per unit area yield of the township is 50 kg, the lowest is 38 kg, the average per unit area yield is 42 kg, the cocoon purchase price is 18 yuan / kg, the average single output value of silkworm farmers is 756 yuan, and the average household income is more than 1300 yuan. The meeting first commended the advanced individuals with large amount of rearing, achievement and technology in place, large amount of square cluster use, high cocoon yield and good quality, 5 first prize winners, 400 yuan per person, 8 second prize winners, 300 yuan per person. At the same time, the township silkworm farmers cashed in 2 yuan per kilogram of cocoon with cocoon sales certificate, in order to improve the enthusiasm of sericulture. Deputy director Zhang Youhong made a speech of "make persistent efforts to build a high-quality cocoon base township", which encouraged the sericulture farmers to establish confidence and welcome the comprehensive recovery of sericulture industry. Then, the experts of our institute trained the participating silkworm farmers on the techniques of small silkworm co breeding, summer and autumn silkworm disinfection and disease prevention, labor-saving fixed silkworm platform, mobile silkworm platform using technology, cardboard grid cluster on cluster technology, and explained the problems of low silkworm hole rate in spring silkworm period using grid cluster.
