Dingwen town
Dingwen Town, belonging to Qianwei County, Leshan City, Sichuan Province, is located on qianluo highway 15.8 kilometers northeast of the county. It is adjacent to Xinsheng Township in the East, Wuyu Township in the South and Fulong Township in the former, JinSu town in Wutongqiao District in the west, Shoubao Township and Luocheng town in the North. In 2017, the area was 45.25 square kilometers, with a permanent population of 12467. By 2019, Dingwen town has one community and 16 administrative villages.

On December 13, 2019, the people's Government of Sichuan Province decided to abolish Xinsheng Township and put the administrative areas of group 2, Qianjin village, Huangjue village, Xinjian village, Yixin village and Sanchong village of the former Xinsheng Township and fulongchang community of the former Fulong Township under the jurisdiction of Dingwen Town, with the people's Government of Dingwen town at No. 48 Dingwen street.
Evolution of organizational system
Before the Republic of China, it was named maojia temple, which was built by the Maos. During the period of the Republic of China, the villagers thought that the name of maojia temple was indecent, and changed its name to dingwenchang because there were several local scholars.
In 1933, it was changed into a township, with 27 baos under its jurisdiction.
In 1950, the old name Dingwen was used after liberation.
In June 1951, Wenxiang was designated as three townships of prosperity, Dashui (also known as economy) and Tuanjie. There are four villages in prosperity Township, including one village, two villages, three villages and seven villages; there are three villages in Dashui Township, including eight villages, nine villages and ten villages; and there are three villages in Tuanjie Township, including four villages, five villages and six villages.
In February 1956, Tuanjie Township, Dashui Township and Sanxi Township were merged into Fanrong township.
In September 1958, the three townships of prosperity, Gaofeng (Shoubao) and Wuyu merged to establish Dingwen people's commune.
In July 1959, Shoubao and Wuyu were drawn out.
In 1984, Dingwen people's commune was changed into Dingwen township.
In September 1992, Dingwen township was changed into Dingwen town.

In 2015, Dingwen town governed 127 villager groups in 11 villages including Hongliu, Xinsheng, Fangjing, Shangchang, Jinshan, Jinling, Yongle, Dashui, Paofang, Sihe and Sifang, and 6 resident groups in 1 community of Dingwen town.
