Niuhua town
Niuhua Town, also known as liuhuaxi, niuhuaxi and niuhua ancient town, is located in Wutongqiao District, Leshan City, Sichuan Province. It belongs to the downtown area of Leshan City. It is one of the recommended areas of small towns with provincial characteristics in the new era of Leshan City, one of the planning areas of Lingang new town of Leshan City, and an important node of the urban development system of "one core, two circles and multiple points" in Leshan City.
Niuhua town has been prosperous for its salt industry since ancient times. In the Qin Dynasty, Li Bing controlled the water by digging a well in Hongyanzi to make salt, which was even more prosperous in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. Therefore, niuhua town enjoys the reputation of one of the four ancient towns in China.
At the same time, it is also the first place in the world to break through the 100 meter deep oil shaft. Salt chemical industry and mechanical and electrical products are the leading industries of the town. 58 private enterprises are the main force of the town. Name and origin
Niuhua town is a millennium salt town. It is the place where Li Bing, the governor of Shu County, first discovered "salt irrigation" and the first place in the world to break through the 100 meter deep oil shaft. Niuhua town is Wutongqiao salt and phosphorus chemical production base. There is an evergreen Liuhua river at the foot of the mountain behind the town. In ancient Chinese, "Hua" is used to refer to "Hua". As time goes by, "Liu" becomes "Niu" and "Liuhua" becomes "Niu Hua".

Historical evolution
Qianlong 16 years (1795) town territory under Qianwei County in the middle, in the Republic of China 24 years (1935) set up niuhua Town, under Qianwei County Fourth District, 21 Street 38 Bao. in 1949, a small part of Yunhua Township in the north of the town belonged to the Second District of Leshan county. In June 1954, Xinmiao Township, Shanshu Township and Xinyun township of Leshan county were divided into the third district of Wutongqiao city. At that time, the third district governed one town (niuhua town) and five townships (Minjiang Township, Jiefang Township, Minsheng Township, Xinmiao Township and Shanshu township). In January 1955, the municipal system was abolished, and niuhua town was upgraded to a county-level town. In 1956, Minsheng, Minjiang, Jiefang and other small townships were designated to set up Jiefang township. In 1958, Jiefang township was changed into Jiefang commune. In 1984, Jiefang commune was changed into Jiefang township. In 1987, Jiefang township was merged into niuhua town. In September 1992, niuhua township was merged into niuhua town.
