Liuma town
Liuma town belongs to Zizhong County, Sichuan Province, located in the northwest of Zizhong County, 24km away from Zizhong County (Shuinan town). Liuma town is located between Douyan mountain and Jingu bridge, bordering Xiaoyuan town and Kanjia town.
In December 2019, with the approval of Sichuan provincial government, Liuma town was abolished and its administrative area was put under the jurisdiction of Shuanglong Town, and the people's Government of Shuanglong town was stationed at 112 old street.
Civil Affairs
Liuma town was built in 1369, with an altitude of 390m. There are 13 temples, which are historic buildings. Liuma town has party and government organizations, including one compulsory education school (Liuma Central School), two secondary primary schools (Yudai primary school and Wuhu primary school), and two kindergartens (Liuma central kindergarten and HongPai kindergarten). Due to the underdeveloped area, the town's educational facilities are obsolete and the funds are seriously insufficient. There are health centers, postal, telecommunications, industry and commerce, taxation, supply and marketing, individual associations and social business, neighborhood committees, etc. The town covers an area of 42.15km2, with a total population of 31800, including 1267 non-agricultural population. In August 1992, the district was withdrawn and the town was merged into a new Liuma town. With shallow hills and water resources, Mengxi river passes through Liuma Town, Wufu village and Yong'an village. There are three small-scale reservoirs and 103 ponds, which can basically guarantee the planting of crops and rice in case of severe drought. The frost free period is about 300 days (the whole year), and the annual rainfall is 1176 mm. The main crops are wheat, corn, sweet potato, rice, peanut, etc. Economic crops include all kinds of vegetables and sea peppers. Breeding industry has pigs, Longzi pigs sold well in Yunnan, Guizhou, Yibin, Anyue, Lezhi and other places. There are more than 200000 chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, cattle, sheep and so on. It is the main labor export town in Zizhong County. Most of the young and middle-aged labor force go out to work. Young women mainly enter factories in Shenzhen, Dongguan and other places. Male labor workers are basically engaged in the construction industry. As a result, the health of the left behind elderly and the education of their children are increasingly serious. The local people are not superstitious in religion. A Christian Church has been built near the town market. Most of the people are hardworking and kind, respecting the old and loving the young. There is a steep rock mountain with an area of 0.5km2 in the scenic spot. Because of the heroic sacrifice of Comrade Luo Mingjun of the Chinese people's Liberation Army during the suppression of bandits in 1950, it has been an important holy land for middle school students, primary school students and young pioneers to sweep tombs every year for decades since liberation. Under the "No.2 bridge" at the junction of lumao village and Haitang village, there is a deep pool called "leidadang" by the local people, It has never dried up. In addition to the legend that it was formed by thunder and electric shock, many tourists have come here. There are "Rana stone", "Tiger Bridge" and other scenic spots in this area. It is an ideal place for vacation and leisure. However, due to the pollution of the water area by the excreta of pig farms, it has made the beauty unable to eat. The local villagers have been angry, but the policy has come, and the masses dare not do anything. There are 21 villages in Liuma town. After the villages were merged in 2010, there are 8 administrative villages: Jingu village, HongPai village, liujiamiao village, hongdougou village, Yaochang village, Wufu village, liujiao village and Sanbai village.
