Gaopo town

Gaopo town is located in the northeast mountainous area of Cangxi County, Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province, 93 kilometers away from the county seat and more than 90 kilometers away from the urban area. It is adjacent to Wangcang County, Huangmao Township in the East, Wenchang town in the south, Dongxi town in the West and Longdong Township in the north. Historical evolution

In October 1933, the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army established a Soviet village in Gaopochang. After May 1935, it belonged to four districts under the jurisdiction of gaohuang township. The people's Government of Gaopo township was established in 1951. In 1958, it was changed into Gaopo people's commune. In 1984, it was restored to Gaopo township. In 1992, it was withdrawn from the township and the people's Government of Gaopo town was established. It has jurisdiction over three offices of Gaopo, Longdong and Shuangshi.
