Qiping town
Qiping is also known as "Dengzhou city" because of "qipingchuan". Located in the middle reaches of the East River of Jialing River, the northern edge of Sichuan Basin, and the southern foot of Qinba Mountains, Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province, is located in the hinterland of Cangxi County, 42 kilometers away from the county seat. Qiping town has a long history. In ancient times, it was a dependency of Pingzhou state. In the Western Zhou Dynasty, it was the capital of Fengguo, the Marquis of Qiang nationality. In the Taikang period of the Western Jin Dynasty, Qike county was set up here, and then it was ruled by song'an County, Qiping County, Nanping state and Qiping district. In the new era, the overall planning of village and town system and city of Cangxi County (2016-2035) defines Qiping town as a sub center and small town level city of Cangxi County, one of the "dual cores" of the overall industrial development pattern of Cangxi County, a comprehensive town integrating business services, agricultural and sideline products processing, light industry and rural eco-tourism, and an agricultural machinery manufacturing and modern agriculture Production and intensive processing of agricultural and sideline products.
The geographical coordinates of Qiping town are (31 ° 53 ′ 16.76 ″ n, 106 ° 8 ′ 47.62 ″ E). It is mainly low mountain landform and a few hilly terrain. It is located in subtropical humid monsoon climate zone with mild climate and four distinct seasons. Chengdu Wanzhou Expressway (cangba) and 411 provincial highway pass through the territory, with convenient transportation. Evolution of organizational system
In ancient times, there was a strategic road between Shaanxi and Gansu, which led to Badong, Guizhou and Guangxi, through Taiyangshan (taiyingshan) to Langzhong and as far as Guilin. This avenue divides another branch line at Tianshengqiao, which leads directly to the East River. The branch of the avenue is "Qi", and there is a small plain by the East River, so it is named "qipingchuan" and "Qiping".
According to Taiping Huanyu Ji, song'an county was changed into Qiping County in 556, the third year of Gongdi in the later Wei Dynasty (the Western Wei Dynasty), named after "qipingchuan".
According to cultural relics, about 10000 to 4000 years ago, there were ancestors living and reproducing in today's Qiping area.
Neolithic period: from 4400 BC to 3300 BC, the ancestors established a patriarchal clan society tribe in the Qiping area of today's Donghe River Basin, known as "Pingzhou clan commune" (Pingzhou state), "Feng tribe".

Western Zhou Dynasty: it belongs to the territory of Fengguo. In the first year of King Wu of Zhou Dynasty (1046 BC), the ancestors established the Qiang Marquis state "Feng", with the capital of today's Qiping town.

Qin and Han Dynasties: it was under the jurisdiction of Langzhong County, Bajun County; 9-23 A.D., it belonged to the new dynasty; 24-36 A.D., it belonged to the "Chengjia" regime; in the 12th year of Jianwu (36 A.D.), it entered the Eastern Han Dynasty; in the 6th year of Jian'an (201 A.D.), it belonged to Langzhong County, Baxi County, Yizhou.

During the period of Jin Dynasty and Sixteen Kingdoms: taikangzhong (280-289) in the Western Jin Dynasty set up qicong County in the north of Langzhong county. The county government was in today's qipingchang, which was subordinate to Baxi County of Liangzhou. In the Chenghan Dynasty (306-347), Qike county was subordinate to Brazil County of Liangzhou. Southern and Northern Dynasties: during the Yongchu period of Song Dynasty (420-422), qicong county was changed to song'an County, and the county government was still in front of it, which was subordinate to Songxi County of Liangzhou; during the Southern Qi Dynasty, it was still subordinate to Songxi County of Liangzhou; during the southern Liang Dynasty, it was subordinate to Songxi County of Lizhou. In the third year of emperor Gong of the Western Wei Dynasty (556), an County was named Qiping County in the Yi Song Dynasty. The county was still under the jurisdiction of Dongluo County in Lizhou. In the Northern Zhou Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of Jinshou County in Lizhou.
Sui Dynasty: in the second year of kaihuang (582), Qiping county was transferred to Yicheng County of Lizhou general manager's office; in the third year of kaihuang (583), Qiping County belonged to "stop all prefectures and save Lizhou"; in the third year of Daye (607), Lizhou general manager's office was abolished, and Qiping county was directly subordinate to Yicheng County.
Tang Dynasty: in the first year of Wude (618), Qiping County belonged to the governor of Lizhou Prefecture; in the seventh year of Wude (624), Nanping Prefecture was set up to govern Qiping County; in the second year of Zhenguan (628), Nanping Prefecture was abolished and Qiping county was changed to Lishan Nandao Lizhou Dudu Fu; in the 23rd year of Kaiyuan (735), Langzhou was changed to Lishan Nandao; in the first year of Baoli (825), Qiping county was transferred to Fengguo and Cangxi counties; in the Tianfu period, the Tang Dynasty was established From 901 to 903, Qiping county was restored to Langzhou.
Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms: in the former Shu period (907-925), it was subordinate to Langzhou; in the later Tang Dynasty (929), it was promoted to Baoning army, and Qiping County belonged to Baoning army; in the later Shu period (934-965), it also belonged to Baoning army.
Song Dynasty: in the fourth year of Qiande (966), the Baoning army was changed into the ander army, and Qiping County belonged to the ander army; in the fourth year of Xianping (1001), it belonged to Langzhou in Lizhou road; in the fourth year of Xining (1071), it belonged to Fengguo and Cangxi counties, and it belonged to Langzhou in Lizhou road. Ming Dynasty: in 1371, it belonged to Cangxi County, Baoning Prefecture, Sichuan Province; in 1377, it belonged to Langzhong County, Baoning Prefecture, Sichuan Province; in 1371, it set up Quanxin Township, which belonged to Cangxi County, Baoning Prefecture, Sichuan Province. At the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, it belonged to the Great Western and Southern Ming Dynasty.
Qing Dynasty: in 1651, it was under the jurisdiction of Quanxin Township, Cangxi County, Baoning Prefecture, Sichuan Province; in 1660, it was changed to Dongxiang, Cangxi County; in 1802, it was under the jurisdiction of Cangxi County, Baoning Prefecture, northern Sichuan Province.
In the 20th year of Daoguang (1840), today Qiping town is under the jurisdiction of Quanxin Township, which is under the jurisdiction of Cangxi County, Baoning Prefecture, North Sichuan Road; in the first year of Guangxu (1875), it belongs to the general protection of Donglu; from the second year of Xuantong (1910) to the 22nd year of the Republic of China (1933), it belongs to Yuanba town.
In June 1933, the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army established three rural Soviet governments in qipingchang, taiyingshan and huabeiliang, belonging to Baimiao District, Changchi County, Sichuan Shaanxi revolutionary region; in September, it was changed to Cangxi County.
In May, 1935, Qiping township (Lianbao) was established, belonging to the Second District of Cangxi County, the fourteenth administrative supervision district of Sichuan Province; in 1940, Qibai township was combined with Baimiao township; in 1947, Qiping township was restored, belonging to the second district; in 1948, it belonged to the second District of Cangxi County, the Jiange administrative supervision district of Sichuan Province.
On February 1, 1950, the Fifth District of Cangxi County was established and stationed in Qiping town. It was renamed Qiping District in 1955.
In 1951, JianZheng established Qiping Township, which is the Fifth District of Cangxi County.
In March 1953, it was transferred to Nanchong special district of Sichuan Province (renamed area in 1970).
In December 1955, Taiyun Township and Denggao Township were abolished, and most of their territories were assigned to Qiping township.
In October 1958, Qiping people's commune was established; in March 1962, Denggao commune was restored.
In 1984, Qiping commune was renamed Qiping township.
In August 1986, Qiping township was changed into a town, belonging to Qiping District, Cangxi County, Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province.
In October 1992, the former administrative regions of Nanyang Township and Denggao Township were merged into Qiping town.
In October 1997, Nanyang Township and Denggao Township were restored.
In September 2004, the administrative region of Denggao township was merged into Qiping town again.

In 1990, Qiping town governed song'an, tumiao, Taiying, Shuguang, Hongyu, Yinlong, Tianxing, Qilong, Xuguang, Tanlu, Baosi, Wuyi 12 village and qipingchang community.
By the end of 2019, Qiping town governs 4 communities and 36 administrative villages.
