Neutron town
Zhongzi Town, subordinate to Chaotian District, Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province, was formerly known as termination shop, but later renamed as zhongzi shop or zhongzi post. It was established in 1951, changed into zhongzi commune in 1958, restored to zhongzi Township in 1984, and rebuilt into zhongzi town in 1992. It is the throat of going out of Sichuan and entering Shaanxi. It is known as "the first town from Tianfu to north, the first stop after entering Sichuan". It is the key town of three industrial districts in Chaotian district and Guangyuan It is one of the first batch of small town construction pilot towns in Sichuan Province, and one of the "hundred town construction action" pilot towns in Sichuan Province.
Zhongzi town is located in the north of Guangyuan City, northeast of Chaotian District, bordering zhuandou town in the East, Xuanhe town in the west, Qinglin Township and Wen'an Township in the north, Pingxi Township and Lianghekou Township in the south, covering an area of 54.12 square kilometers, with a total population of 8255 (2017). In 2011, Zizi town achieved a GDP of 160 million yuan.
Beijing Kunming expressway, 108 National Highway and xi'an-chengdu high-speed railway run through Zizi Town, and part of Sichuan Guangyuan Chaotian economic development zone is located in Zizi town. The zhongzipu microlithic site is one of the earliest Neolithic sites in Sichuan Basin and the eighth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.

Before the Republic of China
After a pilot excavation in Gaoche village, zhongzi Town, Institute of archaeology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, a large number of stone leaves, stone cores, stone knives, scrapers and other microlithic cultural artifacts have been unearthed. The latest artifacts are from the early Neolithic age, about 6000 to 7000 years ago. in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the delivery documents of Shaanxi and Sichuan post roads were handed over at qipanguan, so it was named "termination shop". Later it was renamed hammer, and then it was renamed neutron by homophony, which was called neutron shop or neutron post. In Ming and Qing Dynasties, it belonged to shenxuanyi (zhixuanhe) Cheng. In 1910, Yuexuan town was built. in 1915, it belonged to the 13th (Chaotian) regiment. In March 1934, the Fourth Front Army of the Chinese workers' and peasants' Red Army established the Soviet government of Hongping County in Qinglin Township, which belongs to shenxuanyi District of Hongping county. after the withdrawal of the Fourth Front Red Army, it belonged to the second district (Shenxuan post) department.
New China period
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, in early September 1950, Guangyuan County adjusted its division and divided Chaotian district (county jurisdiction) into seven townships to establish Zizi district. The District Office governed zizipu, which was the eighth district. In June 1951, a neutron township was set up, belonging to the eighth district (neutron District). In December 1952, Xinmin Township was abolished and its village group was assigned to zhongzi township. In mid January 1954, the people's Government of Zhongzi township was renamed the people's Committee of Zhongzi Township, the eighth District of Guangyuan County. In March 1958, the Zizi Township Party branch was renamed as the Zizi township party general branch. On September 2 of the same year, zhongzi township was changed into zhongzi people's commune, implementing the system of "government society integration, five in one" (workers, peasants, soldiers, students and businessmen) ". The Township People's Committee was renamed the people's commune management committee, and the village was renamed the District team. in January 1961, zizipuchang town resumed a fair trade on three days. In early April 1965, the general Party branch committee of Zhongzi commune changed its name to zhongzi commune Committee of Guangyuan County of the Communist Party of China. In January 1980, the Revolutionary Committee of the people's commune was abolished and renamed the Management Committee of the people's commune. In January 1984, the Management Committee of Zhongzi people's commune was abolished, the system of Zhongzi township was restored, the production brigade was restored to the villagers' committee, and the production team was restored to the villagers' group. on May 17, 1985, Guangyuan County was officially abolished and the Central District of Guangyuan City was rebuilt. The sub district was under the jurisdiction of the Central District of Guangyuan City. in October 1986, the Zizi District Office was abolished, the Zizi district was assigned to Chaotian district (county jurisdiction), and the Zizi township was changed to Chaotian District Office of Shizhong District. on August 15, 1989, Chaotian District Office was abolished and Chaotian district (county level) was formally established. Zhongzi township was under the jurisdiction of Chaotian district from Shizhong District. in October 1992, with the approval of the people's Government of Sichuan Province, zhongzi township was abolished and zhongzi town was officially established. in December 2019, zhuandou town and Xuanhe town will be abolished. The original administrative region of zhuandou town and some administrative regions of Xuanhe town will be transferred to zhongzi Town, and some administrative regions of Zhongzi town will be transferred to Zengjia town.
