Loyalty and filial piety
Zhongxiao township is subordinate to Santai County, Mianyang City, Sichuan Province. During the period of people's commune, it is also called Dongsheng commune. It is under the jurisdiction of Tashan district and is now a township directly under the county government. Located in the east of Santai County, it is 47 kilometers away from the county seat and nearly an hour's drive away from Mianyang. There are grade highways running through Mianyang Yanting. Many villages in the township are connected with cement roads, which makes people realize their dream of governing the land with less mud. The geographical coordinates are 105 ° E and 30 ° n. It borders MaoGong township of Yanting County in the East, Tashan town in the West and Jingu Township in the south. During the reign of Xianfeng in Qing Dynasty, the market flourished. Li Lianxi, a wealthy family, gave birth to two sons named Quan Zhong and Quan Xiao. Because of the disharmony between the two families, he donated part of his family property to build a nunnery in the present town of Zhongxiao township. The second son was named zhongxiao'an, hence the name of Changzhen.
On December 25, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved the adjustment of administrative divisions of some towns and townships in Mianyang City (cfzm [2019] No. 27): Shuangsheng town was abolished and its administrative area was put under the jurisdiction of Zhongxiao township. Zhongxiao Township People's government was stationed at No. 28-2, North Street.
The origin of place names
Zhongxiao Temple
According to the records of Zhongxiao Township, the name of Zhongxiao Township comes from the name of Zhongxiao temple. "Zhongxiaoan" originally belonged to the residence of Li family. Li had twin sons, one named Quanzhong and the other named Quanxiao. He hoped that his son would become the son of Zhongxiao in the future. When the two brothers grew up, they were particularly disgusted with their father's harshness and mother's nagging, and they often contradicted their parents. The mother saw that her son was already a pair of "rotten wood". In a rage, she went out of the house and cut her hair. After his father's patient and meticulous ideological work, the two brothers finally wake up and go to ask their mother to go home. I don't know that my mother has been disheartened and unwilling to change her original intention. The brothers have no choice but to comply. They gave their mother the house they were going to marry as a nunnery for eating fast and chanting Buddhism, namely "Zhongxiao nunnery". Later, the empress hall and the God of wealth hall were built one after another.
Loyalty and filial piety
Since then, the Zhongxiao nunnery, like a magnetic field, has attracted people from all walks of life to burn incense and kowtow here. It is often full of people's voices and incense. As a result, commerce and trade flourished and gradually formed a market town. In 1930, the annals of Santai County recorded: "zhongxiaochang, 80 miles away from the city, was formerly known as zhongxiaoan, which was established in 1743 A.D. in the eighth year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong."
