It is said that during the period of the Three Kingdoms, Liu Bei led his troops to attack Shu. When they arrived at Fuguan (today's Mianyang), they attacked Luocheng (today's Guanghan) in two different ways with Pang Tong's troops. The soldiers and horses passed through yanjialing, which is about 20 li away from Lutou mountain (today's baimaguan). They saw that the mountains ahead were dangerous, with dense trees and bamboos and thorns everywhere. Pang Tong was suspicious and afraid of ambush, so he borrowed two carrier pigeons from the people's home in the mountains and exchanged white horses with Liu Bei. Pang Tong's soldiers went to the south slope of lutouguan (luofengpo) and met Shu General Zhang Ren in ambush. Immediately, his arrow was lost like rain, and his soldiers were attacked on both sides. Shu soldiers knew that Liu Bei was riding on the white horse, so they tried their best to kill them. All the soldiers died. Pang Tong took a few arrows, pulled out the bleeding arrow before swallowing his breath, and wrote down the war situation. The carrier pigeon quickly passed the information to Liu Bei, and Liu Bei adjusted his attack strategy in time. In order to express his gratitude for Pang Tong's carrier pigeon's missionary work, Liu Bei granted silver to the pigeon breeders and named them "phoenix", which means "Phoenix chick". Later, in memory of Pang Tong, people in the mountains raised pigeons at home. Everyone loved pigeons and regarded them as "Phoenix chicks" and regarded them as gods. Later, people built the "phoenix" temple on yanjialing. On June 24 of the lunar calendar, "Phoenix Temple" meets every day. Catching up with temple fairs, releasing carrier pigeons, watching dramas, seeking good luck, and doing leisure and entertainment have become a well-known fashion. There are more myths and Legends: on the one hand, all the pigeons who catch up with the pigeon meeting will not get sick or suffer from plague; on the other hand, no matter how long the drought lasts, it will rain on every day of the pigeon meeting. It is said that the Lord of heaven will mourn the "chicks" with tears. It was sunny a few days before and after June 24 last year, but the pigeon club had a big shower in the morning, which added a bit of coolness to the sultry "three Fu". It is a coincidence.
