Wenquan township is located in the northwest of Yanbian County, 180 kilometers away from the new county (via Panzhihua City). It is a remote and poor Yi nationality township in the northwest of Yanbian county. It is adjacent to Jiangxi Township, Huanghe Township in the East, Lianluo Township in the north, Huaping County in the South and Ningluo Yi Autonomous County in the West.
