Wuzhi township is under the jurisdiction of Jianyang City, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. Wuzhi township is located in the west of the city, east of the middle section of Longquan Mountain, bordering Jiajia town in the East, Gaoming Township and wumiao Township in the south, Taiping town of Shuangliu County in the west, laojunjing Township in the north and Jianyang City in the southeast. The township covers an area of 33.94 square kilometers and governs 8 village committees. The cultivated land area is 9420 mu, with a total population of 8827, including 8565 agricultural population. In 2011, Wuzhi township was planned as one of the "Tianfu New Area" towns by the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, 24 kilometers away from the municipal government. It covers an area of 36 square kilometers and has a population of 9000. Jia Shuangliu highway traverses the countryside. There are chemical fiber, wine, agricultural machinery repair and other township enterprises. Agriculture mainly produces rice, wheat, corn, cotton, rapeseed, citrus and apple. On November 15, 2014, the general plan of Sichuan Tianfu new area was approved and officially issued by the State Council, and Wuzhi township is within the planning scope of Sichuan Tianfu new area. In December 2019, Chengdu Municipal People's government decided to abolish Wuzhi township.

Four reservoirs have been built successively, with water storage of 600000 cubic meters, seven weirs and seven pumping stations. In the 1970s, after Longquan Mountain was opened to draw water from Minjiang River, Zhangjiayan reservoir and 17 supporting canals were built in 1973, with 14.21 million cubic meters of water storage, 77800 mu of effective irrigation area, 286 million cubic meters of water from Sancha reservoir and Shipan reservoir. In February 2005, the construction of drinking water project in Jianyang City was broken, and the water supply was officially opened on December 28, 2005. Since then, Zhangjiayan reservoir has become the only drinking water source in Jianyang City, and has been designated as a first-class protection area.
