Xinminchang town

Xinminchang Town, subordinate to Pidu District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, is a provincial pilot town of small towns in Sichuan Province. It is located in the hinterland of Chengdu Plain, the land of abundance. It is located in the northwest of Pixian County, 6 kilometers away from the urban area of Pidu District, covering an area of 18.3 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 8 administrative villages, 93 agricultural communities, and a total population of 17846 (2017). It is 2km away from Shaxi line in the north, 2.6km away from national highway 317 line in the south, and 30 minutes' drive from Chengdu. It's 30 minutes' drive from Dujiangyan City and 1 hour's drive from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. The traffic is very convenient.

In December 2019, Chengdu Municipal People's government decided to abolish xinminchang town.

Xinminchang town governs 10 administrative villages and 93 communities, with an agricultural population of 15367, accounting for 96.51% of the total population of the town. It is a typical agricultural village.

Xinminchang town has a subtropical humid monsoon climate with four distinct seasons. There is no severe heat in summer and no severe cold in winter. The annual average temperature is about 16.3 ℃. Xinminchang town was rated as one of the top 200 comprehensive economic towns in Sichuan Province in 2002. Xinminchang town is rich in agricultural and sideline products resources, mainly including pork, chicken, eggs, fresh fish, radish, cabbage, potato, etc., with a total vegetable area of 5700 mu. In Yunqiao village and Jingju village, there are more than 1000 mu of radish, and the spring round root radish is exported to the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Xingwang village is the largest cabbage base in the town, with a planting area of 3000 mu and a total output of 5.4 million kg. Xingzeng village is a grape planting base, and the vineyard is even more famous. In Shuangfeng Village, rice straw mulching is used to plant Autumn Potato after early rice harvest, and plastic film mulching is used to plant spring potato after autumn potato harvest. Yunling village has the largest off-season fruit base of 120 mu in the county. Combined with the new rural construction, xinminchang town formulated and improved the 3 square kilometers, 4500 mu industrial development plan of the first phase of "western flower Town" and the new community master plan of the resettlement area of 300 mu. The base has a fresh potted flower planting area of more than 2500 mu, 64 large-scale planting households and enterprise owners, with an annual sales of more than 81 million potted flowers and a sales income of more than 80 million yuan. Luyeyuan stone carving art museum is located in Pidu District, the birthplace of ancient Shu culture, 20 kilometers away from Chengdu. In 2000, it settled in Yunqiao village and Jingju village on the Bank of Xuyan River in xinminchang Town, covering an area of more than 100 mu, with a total investment of 40 million yuan. It is a small private themed museum with the purpose of collecting Buddhist stone carvings along the Southwest Silk Road. In December 2019, Chengdu City approved the request for instructions on the adjustment of administrative divisions of some towns (streets) in 15 districts (cities) and counties including Longquanyi District. Xinminchang town and ande town were abolished and ande street was established. The administrative area of ande street was the administrative area of the former xinminchang town and the former ande town. Ande Street office was located at No. 2, government road.
