Pushi town
Pushi town is located in the southeast of Luxi County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hunan Province. It is the largest town with the largest area and the largest population in Luxi County.
Pushi town has a total area of 236.14 square kilometers (in 2017). It governs 22 villages. Four community committees, 183 Village (resident) groups, 53385 people (2017).
In 2009, Pushi town was listed as a provincial historical and cultural town, and in 2010, it was listed as a national historical and cultural town.
Evolution of organizational system
Pushi is an ancient town which is established by military and prospered by commerce. It is located in the middle reaches of Yuanjiang River, and its geographical position is very important. It has always been an important land and water area for military strategists. as early as the Han Dynasty, Fubo General Ma Yuan once fought against "Nanman" in this area; in the middle of the Southern Song Dynasty, Pushi ancient town was officially established as a military gathering place. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it became an important point of military preparation. in 1949, the special town of Pu city was established. Jianpu Town, 1953. in 1958, it was changed into Pu commune. in 1984, the town was restored. In 1987, Puyang township was removed and merged into Pushi town.

Pushi town is located in the middle reaches of Yuanshui River, Southeast of Luxi County, 21 km away from national highway 319 and 25 km away from Changji expressway. Yuanjiang River flows northward, reaching Changde and Wuhan under the river and Chenxi County 10 km up the river.

Guanlan Academy
Guanlan academy is the cradle of cultivating talents. In the 12th year of Jiaqing (1807) of the Qing Dynasty, Yin Fuding set up an academy in Chenyuan River, Jingbing and Beidao. He also allocated 420 stones from tuntian to serve as tuition fees for teachers and students. The original name of the academy is "Puyang academy", and the teachers and students live in Wenchang Pavilion (now Pushi hospital). In 1813, the Academy was officially built in dadingmen (Jinpu Central Primary School). Taking "four books and five classics" as the main teaching material, the class adopts large class. Most of the lecturers are mountain leaders, and sometimes the students with excellent grades also give lectures on the stage. In 1903, the imperial examination was abolished and the school was established. It was changed into a "government higher school".
Gaoshanping ancient post road
Located in the section from luxipu city to gaoshanping, it is about 10 kilometers long and 1-1.5 meters wide, paved with bluestone slabs. It is the largest and best preserved ancient post road in Hunan Province. The post road was built in the Hongwu Period of Ming Dynasty, which originated from the Ming Dynasty's policy of ethnic discrimination. In March 2011, gaoshanping ancient post road was announced as a cultural relic protection unit of Hunan Province.
