Yudi Township, subordinate to Youyang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County of Chongqing, is located in the northeast of Youyang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County, connecting Ganxi town and Mawang town in the southeast, Tushi Township in the South and Maoba Township in the northwest. It is 42 kilometers away from the government of Youyang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County, with a total area of 82 square kilometers.
At the beginning of Jiaqing Dynasty, Yudi area was Dongsi township; in November 1983, Yudi commune was changed into Yudi township. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in the rural area was 12185. As of June 2020, Yudi village has four administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the Township People's government is stationed in Xiayu village.

History of construction
At the beginning of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty, Yudi was Dongsi township.
In 1924, it was established as Yudi township. In 1935, Yudi township was subordinate to the Fifth District.
In 1950, Yudi Township belonged to the seventh district (Yanshui).
In October 1952, Yudi township was divided into Yudi Township, Xisha Township, paomu Township and Maoba Township, belonging to eight districts (Maoba).
In June 1953, Yudi township was divided into Gaozhuang, Xiayu and Shangyu.
In December 1955, Gaozhuang, Xiayu and Shangyu merged to restore Yudi township.
