Yuelai Town, which belongs to Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County of Chongqing, is located in the middle of Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County. History of construction
In the third year of Jianyan (1129) of the Southern Song Dynasty, Ma Dinghu was ordered to go to Sichuan to grant Shizhu pacification envoy, and set up the pacification department in shuicheba (now the ancient city dam) of Nanbin county.
In 1381, Nanbin county was withdrawn and put under the jurisdiction of Xuanfu division of Shizhu County.
In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was always Wujia in xiyuanli, the chieftain of Shizhu.
In 1930, it was established as Yuelai town.
In 1940, Yuelai town was changed into Yuelai township.
In December 1956, Gaoqiao township was merged into Yuelai township.
In September 1958, Yuelai township was changed into Yuelai commune.
In November 1983, Yuelai commune was changed to Yuelai township.
In July 2001, Yuelai Township and dongmuping Township were merged to build Yuelai town.
