After December 1949, Zhenquan township was divided into Huali township.
In September 1953, Zhenquan township was divided into Zhenquan Township, cultural Township and Taiping Township.
In June 1955, the two townships of culture and Taiping were merged into Zhenquan Township, and Huali township was merged into Zhenquan township.
In June 1961, Zhenquan commune was established from Fenghuang commune, belonging to Chengxiang District.
