Shijia town is located on the Bank of Tuojiang River, 13 kilometers northwest of Shizhong District, Neijiang City, Sichuan Province. It is adjacent to Sihe town of Economic Development District, Gongjia town and Jingmin town of Shizhong District, and Yinshan town of Zizhong County. It covers an area of 18.12 square kilometers and governs 7 villages and 78 communities. The total population is 17906 (2017), and the per capita cultivated land is 0.04 ha. In the adjustment of agricultural industrial structure, Shijia town focuses on the development of live pigs, and pays attention to the development of lemon, sericulture, loquat and other projects. In 2003, the total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery in the town was 2015 million yuan, including 9.06 million yuan of agricultural output value.

Historical evolution
Shijia street in Qing Dynasty was changed into a township in 1913, an analysis of the town in 1951, incorporated into Chuanjiang commune in 1958, built niuqiao commune in 1962, changed to niuqiao Township in 1984, restored to Shijia town in 1985, and was transferred from Dongxing District to Shizhong District in 1989. In 1990, niuqiao township was changed into Shijia Town, which belonged to Shijia district. in December 2019, Sichuan provincial government approved the cancellation of Gongjia town and put its administrative region under the jurisdiction of Shijia town.
