Gecheng street is subordinate to Chengkou County of Chongqing city. It is located in the middle of Chengkou County, adjacent to Xiuqi town in the East, Fuxing street in the South and Longtian Township in the West and North. It is the seat of the people's Government of Chengkou County, covering an area of 33.03 square kilometers.
In the Qing Dynasty, Gecheng Street belonged to the top three of the seven guarantees; on December 28, 2009, Gecheng street was set up by Gecheng town. In 2018, the permanent population of Gecheng street was 36822. History of construction
In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to the top three of the seven guarantees.
In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), it was transferred to fumu Township regiment of central district. In 1935, it was a joint forest protection system. In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), it belonged to fumu township of Yiqu. In 1941, it was located in fumu town. In 1947, fumu town was changed into Fuxing town.
In September 1958, Fuxing Town, Miansha Township and Heping Township became Fuxing commune.
In April 1961, Xincheng commune was set up in the urban area of Fuxing commune.
In January 1981, Xincheng commune was changed into Chengguan town.
In July 1981, Chengguan town was renamed Gecheng town.
In September 2004, Miansha town was merged into Gecheng town.
On December 28, 2009, Gecheng town was divided into Gecheng street and Fuxing street.
