Guanyinsi belongs to Jibei County in Liao Dynasty, Xijin County later, Daxing County in Jin Dynasty. During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to Daxing County of Jingzhao. From 1928 to 1937, it was the third special district of Hebei Province, and then the fifth special district of Hebei Province. In August 1949, it belongs to Tongxian County, Hebei Province. In 1958, it belonged to Beijing. In July 2009, Guanyinsi street was added in Daxing District, which was formed by four communities originally belonging to Qingyuan street and eight communities originally belonging to Xingfeng street. By the end of 2011, 34387 households had registered residence in the Guanyin Temple Street.
