Wutong Township
Wutong Township, subordinate to Kaizhou District of Chongqing, is located in the southwest corner of Kaizhou District, connecting Yuexi town in the East, Tanzi town of Wanzhou District in the South and West, Wushan town in the north, 65 kilometers away from the city of Kaizhou District, with a total area of 49.58 square kilometers.
In the Ming Dynasty, Wutong Township belonged to Xinpu Shangli; in March 1983, it was changed from Wutong commune to Wutong township. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in five townships was 8931. As of June 2020, Wutong township has jurisdiction over one community and five administrative villages, and the Township People's government is stationed in Xingwu community.
In 2018, Wutong township has 12 industrial enterprises and 3 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In the Ming Dynasty, Wutong township was located in Xinpu Shangli.
At the end of the Qing Dynasty, it was the first temple in Puli.
In 1930, it was a temple town in Wutong. In 1935, it was the joint protection of Wutong temple. In 1940, it was changed to Wutong township.
In February 1958, Wutong township was changed into Wutong commune.
In April 1966, Wutong commune was renamed Tongxin commune.
In April 1979, Tongxin commune was changed into Wutong commune.
In March 1983, Wutong commune was changed into Wutong township.

At the end of 2011, Wutong rural area has jurisdiction over 51 communities, including 5 administrative villages, including zhaijia, Wutong, Tonglin, Tianchong and Sanyuan, with 4 resident groups and 36 villager groups.
