Taipingchang Town, belonging to Nanchuan District of Chongqing, is located in the north end of Nanchuan District, adjacent to Qianfeng Township in the East, lixianghu town in the south, Baisha Town and Dongquan town in Banan District in the west, Zengfu Township and Mingjia Township in Fuling District in the north, with a total area of 67.1 square kilometers.
In 1927, Taiping town was established in Taiping town. In September 1992, it was changed from Taiping town to Taiping town. By the end of 2018, the population of Taiping town registered residence was 16919. As of June 2020, taipingchang town has one community and four administrative villages, and the town people's government is located in Qiaotou community.

History of construction
In 1927, Taiping town was established in Taiping town. In 1940, Taiping town was changed into Taiping town.
In July 1953, Taiping Township was divided into four townships: Taiping, cuicun, Zhongba and Gaoyan.
In August 1955, Taiping, cuicun, Zhongba and Gaoyan became Taiping.
In January 1956, Taiping Township was renamed Taiping Chang.
In January 1980, taipingchang was changed into taipingchang commune.
In January 1984, it was changed from taipingchang commune to taipingchang township.
In September 1992, it was changed from taipingchang township to taipingchang town.
