Huaxi Street
Huaxi street, belonging to Banan District of Chongqing, is located in the northwest of Banan District of Chongqing. It is adjacent to Longzhouwan street in the south, Jiulongpo District and Dadukou District across the river in the west, and lijiatuo street in the north. It is 7 kilometers away from the District People's government, with a total area of 33.5 square kilometers.
In 1707, Huaxi Street belonged to Wujia of Xiaoli; in April 2009, Huaxi town was abolished and Huaxi street was established. At the end of 2011, the total population of Huaxi street was 131400. As of June 2020, Huaxi street has jurisdiction over 18 communities and 6 administrative villages, and its sub district office is located at 71 Hongguang Avenue.
In 2011, the total financial revenue of Huaxi street was 1.23 billion yuan, an increase of 33% over 2010; the total industrial output value was 25.77 billion yuan, an increase of 23.4% over 2010; the total retail sales of social consumer goods was 1.59 billion yuan, an increase of 39.6% over 2010.
History of construction
In the 46th year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (1707), it belonged to Wujia of Xiaoli; in the end of Qing Dynasty, it set up tuqiaochang.
In 1930, Tuqiao township was established; in 1935, Tuqiao township was changed into Tuqiao joint protection; in 1940, Tuqiao joint protection and Wenfeng joint protection were merged into Tuwen township; in 1941, Tuwen township was established; in January 1944, Tuqiao township was changed into Pingdu town.
In October 1952, Pingdu town was divided into the Fourth District of Chongqing (now Jiulongpo District), and the rural part of Nanquan Administration Bureau was changed into five townships, namely Xinsheng, Qilong, Daojiao, Hezuo and Dikan.
In 1958, Tuqiao, Hezuo and Daojiao townships merged to establish Huaxi commune.
In 1983, Huaxi commune was changed into Huaxi township.
In 1994, Huaxi township was removed and Huaxi town was built. In December of the same year, Huaxi town was transferred from Jiulongpo District to Banan District.
In July 2001, Tuqiao street was merged into Huaxi town.
In April 2009, Huaxi town was abolished and Huaxi street was established.
