JIGUANSHI town

JIGUANSHI Town, belonging to Nan'an District of Chongqing, is located in the north of Nan'an District, adjacent to the Yangtze River in the East, Nanshan street in the south, Tushan town in the west, and the Yangtze River in the north. It is 8 kilometers away from the people's Government of Nan'an District, with a total area of 8.9 square kilometers.

In 1941, JIGUANSHI town was established, which was subordinate to the 11th district of Chongqing. In December 1992, JIGUANSHI town was changed from JIGUANSHI township to JIGUANSHI town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in the town was 13000. As of June 2020, JIGUANSHI town has four communities and one administrative village under its jurisdiction, and the town people's government is located at No. 1 Heping community, Zhengjie street.

History of construction

In 1941, JIGUANSHI town was set up, which belongs to the 11th district of Chongqing. In 1944, the town was abolished and jiguanshibao was set up, belonging to the 18th District of Chongqing.

After November 1950, JIGUANSHI township was set up, belonging to the Sixth District of Chongqing.

In 1955, the fifth and sixth districts of Chongqing were merged into Nan'an District, and JIGUANSHI township was subordinate to it.

In August 1956, Baisha Township was merged into JIGUANSHI township.

In September 1958, it was renamed JIGUANSHI management area of Tushan commune.

In October 1961, it was changed into JIGUANSHI commune.

In May 1983, JIGUANSHI township was restored.

In December 1992, it was changed from JIGUANSHI township to JIGUANSHI town.

By the end of 2011, JIGUANSHI town had jurisdiction over Yankou and baishatuo communities, five administrative villages including naxigou, Shilong, Heping, Panlong and Xinglong, and 20 resident groups and 21 villager groups.
