Haiwei town

Haiwei town is located in the northwest of Changjiang Li Autonomous County, bordering shijitian town in the East, Wulie town and Changhua town in the south, Beibu Gulf in the west, Zhubi River in the north and Haitou town of Danzhou City across the river. With an administrative area of 202.6 square kilometers, the town governs 15 Village (neighborhood) committees and 36 natural villages, with a total population of 29184 (in 2017). The coastline is 38 kilometers long. It is a small coastal town.

Historical evolution

Haiwei town is a coastal market town inhabited by Han people. In the Ming Dynasty, businessmen and fishermen from Qiongshan, Danxian and Lingao came here to make a living and gradually became market towns. in ancient times, it was called "the great member". In ancient times, it was under the jurisdiction of daner. It was also located at the end of the south coast of Zhoufu. It echoed the north and south of Haitou in Danxian County, so it was commonly known as Haiwei. the Song Dynasty set up a small city, known as Haiwei old city. Because of this, Haiwei town was established in yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. In 1950, it belonged to the Second District of Changgan county. Haiwei township was established in 1957. Haiwei people's commune was established in 1958. in 1983, it was divided into districts. the town was reset in 1987. In 2002, nanluo town and Haiwei town merged to establish Haiwei town.

Changjiang Haiwei Jinwang ecological agriculture professional cooperative has also built 200 mu steel frame greenhouse for Mitong watermelon planting in Yong'an village of Haiwei Town, and 120 mu of Mitong watermelon has been planted in the greenhouse.

Haiwei town is close to Beibu Gulf and has rich marine resources. There are more than 30 kinds of aquatic products in Haiwei Town, such as mackerel, pomfret, grouper, green scale, Baibu, red fish, etc. Haiwei town gives full play to its advantages as an important coastal town, insists on taking fishery as the highlight of economic growth, raises funds of 13.8 million yuan from various sources, and builds a national first-class fishing port, Haiwei port, so as to lay a solid foundation for building "an important fishery town". Lead the fishermen to "build big ships and go deep into the sea", break the limitations of offshore operations, bravely go deep into the sea, develop fishery resources, and make full use of marine economy. A total of 14 large fishing boats with more than 90 tonnage have been built, which enjoy 2.8 million yuan of subsidy from the county government. Wetland Park

Shigangtang wetland is located in Wuda village, Haiwei Town, Changjiang Li Autonomous County, Hainan Province, about 1000 meters away from the coastline.
