Nanlu Town, subordinate to Tunchang County, Hainan Province, is located in the southeast of Tunchang County. It is adjacent to state-owned Zhongjian farm in the East, Wupo town and Fengmu town in the south, Nanlu farm in the West and poxin town in the north. The administrative area of the town is 83.77 square kilometers.

In May 1961, Nanlu commune was established in Nanlu district. In December 1983, the township of the restored district was established, known as Nanlu district. In March 1987, Nanlu district was renamed Nanlu town. By the end of 2018, 32798 households registered residence in Nanlu town. By the end of 2020, Nanlu town has jurisdiction over one community and 14 administrative villages, and the town people's government is located in Nanlu market.

Historical evolution

In the late Qing Dynasty, Nanlu area was Nanlidu, Nanxiang, Ding'an County.

From 1928 to 1946, it belonged to Ding'an County.

In March 1948, it was transferred to Qiongzhong County.

In 1949, it was under the jurisdiction of Dingxi special district of Ding'an County.

In 1957, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged into Nanlu township.

In 1958, it merged with maple and Wupo to form iron and steel commune (later changed to Nanlv commune).

In May 1961, the large commune was changed into a small commune, and the Nanlu commune was established in the Nanlu district.

In December 1983, the township of the restored district was established, known as Nanlu district.
