Basuo Town, subordinate to Dongfang City, Hainan Province, is located in the northwest of Dongfang City, adjacent to Datian town in the East, Xinlong town in the south, Beibu Gulf in the west, sigeng town and Sanjia town in the north. The total area is 303 square kilometers.
In 1958, it became eight communes and rocket commune (later changed to Xinjie commune). In 2002, Basuo Town, Xinjie Town, Duntou town and Luodai town merged into today's Basuo town. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in eight towns was 162735. As of June 2020, eight towns have jurisdiction over 11 communities and 34 administrative villages. The town people's government is located in Yong'an East Road.

The main food crops were rice, corn and sweet potato.
