Sanmenpo town
Sanmenpo Town, subordinate to Qiongshan District, Haikou City, Hainan Province, is located in the south central part of Qiongshan District, adjacent to Donglu Town, Wenchang City in the East, Dapo town and Jiazi town in the south, Jiuzhou town in the West and Hongqi Town in the north. The administrative area of the town is 219 square kilometers.
In September 1983, it was renamed Sanmenpo district office. In March 1987, Sanmenpo town was established. On July 15, 2002, Sanmenpo town and Tanwen town merged to establish Sanmenpo town. On October 16, 2002, with the approval of the State Council, Qiongshan city was abolished and Qiongshan District of Haikou City was established. Sanmenpo town was under the jurisdiction of Qiongshan district. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of three towns was 35190. As of June 2020, Sanmenpo town has jurisdiction over 3 communities and 12 administrative villages, and the town people's government is stationed in Sanmenpo market.
In 2011, the total financial revenue of Sanmenpo town was 8.5 million yuan, an increase of 147% over the previous year. In 2014, the gross output value of Sanmenpo town was 965 million yuan, and the per capita net income was 7960 yuan. Historical evolution
In 1933, Sanmenpo town belonged to the eighth District of Qiongshan county.
From 1939 to April 1950, it belonged to the Fourth District of Qiongshan county.
In 1951, it belongs to the Second District of Qiongshan county.
In 1957, it belonged to Xinde township.
In September 1958, Dongfeng commune was established jointly with Dapo, Jiazi and Tan Wen (including Dongshan and state-owned Hongming farm); in December of the same year, it was renamed Sanmenpo commune.
In April 1959, Sanmenpo commune established Sanmenpo commune, Tanwen commune and Dapo commune respectively.
In September 1970, the market and society separated.
In September 1983, it was renamed Sanmenpo district office.
In March 1987, Sanmenpo town was established under the jurisdiction of Qiongshan county.
In January 1994, Qiongshan county was set up as a city under the jurisdiction of Qiongshan city.
On July 15, 2002, Sanmenpo town and Tanwen town merged to establish Sanmenpo town.
