Nazuo Miao Township

Nazuo Miao township is located in the southeast of Xilin County, bordering on zubie Yao Miao Township in the northeast, Funing County and Guangnan County in Yunnan Province in the southeast, and Xiping Township in the west, with a total area of 527 square kilometers.

During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1665), nazori was set up as the residence of nazori. In 1984, it was rebuilt into a Miao Township in Nazuo. By the end of 2019, Nazuo Miao township is mainly inhabited by Miao, Yao, Zhuang, Han and other nationalities, with a total of 26741 people, including 6610 Miao people, accounting for 24.7% of the total population; it has 18 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the township government is stationed in Naping village.

In 2018, there were 28 industrial enterprises and 57 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in Nazuo Miao township.

History of construction

During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1665), nazori was set up as the residence of nazori.

In 1929, it was changed to Nazuo Township, and the Township Office was moved to Longtan.

In August 1951, Xilong County of Xilin was merged into the eighth District of Longlin Autonomous County.

In 1958, it was called Dongfeng commune.

From 1961 to 1962, it was divided into three small communes: Nazuo, NongWang and Jiaoliu.

In 1963, the small commune was abolished and merged into Nazo district.

In October 1968, it was renamed Nazo commune.

In 1984, it was rebuilt into a Miao Township in Nazuo.

By the end of 2019, Nazuo Miao village has 18 administrative villages: Nazuo village, Xinlong village, shangmacao village, Daxia village, Jiema village, mulu village, Weihong village, Nashan village, Longtan Village, Ganjie village, nonghe village, Ersha village, bapen village, pingbie village, Dongxiao village, Yonghe village, Longtan Village, NongWang village, 119 natural villages, 169 villager groups, and the township government is stationed in Naping village.

There are Miao Lusheng dance, bapen "longyawai" (local proverb, Niutou dance), pingbie Zhuang folk song, Miao embroidery and other folk cultures in Nazuo Miao township. Among them, bapen "longyawai" has been listed as the intangible cultural heritage of the autonomous region.
