Dongchang Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Lipu City, Guilin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is located in the south of Guilin city and the northeast of Lipu City, bordering Pingle County in the East, Maling town in the northwest, Licheng town in the southwest, Xinping town in the south, Yangshuo County in the North, with a maximum horizontal distance of 14.3 km from east to west, 22 km from north to south, 15 km from the main urban area of Lipu City, and 20 km from Pingle county The east gate of the city has an administrative area of 145 square kilometers.
Before liberation, it was called Zhendong township. In 1982, place name survey, because of the same name with Gongcheng County Limu commune, and renamed Dongzhen commune. In August 1984, it was renamed Dongzhen township. In July 1994, the township was changed into Dongchang town. As of 2018, the total population of Dongchang town is 24158, including 15700 agricultural population; there are Yao, Zhuang and other nationalities, including more than 4400 Yao and 1800 Zhuang. By the end of 2019, Dongchang town has one neighborhood committee and 10 village committees, and the town government is stationed at No. 2, Lidong road.
In 2018, the tax revenue of industrial enterprises in Dongchang town was 11.1914 million yuan, the total industrial investment in the year was 240 million yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 10.6%; the total industrial output value was 116 million yuan, with 5 new projects, with a total investment of 101 million yuan; the per capita net income of farmers was 12515 yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 2.4%.
History of construction
Before liberation, it was called Zhendong township.
After liberation, Limu district was set up in April 1950, with jurisdiction over Zhendong and Longwo townships. In November of the same year, it was renamed the first district.
In 1953, Longwo township was assigned to Pingle County, and the quiet township of Pingle county was assigned to the first district of Lipu County.
In 1955, it was renamed Limu district.
In August 1958, it was renamed as Limu commune.
In August 1962, it was renamed Limu district.
In November 1968, it was renamed Limu commune.

In 2005, it has jurisdiction over 10 village committees and 97 natural villages, including Limu community, Sigong, Dongyang, Yimin, Hebei, Huanhe, Tantou, Minqiang, Jingjing, PanYao and Longtian.
In 2018, it has jurisdiction over 11 Village (neighborhood) committees, 86 natural villages and 223 villager groups.
