Luwei Town, belonging to Binyang County, Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is located in the southeast of Binyang County, adjacent to Longxiang and Shitang towns of Hengxian town in the East, Gantang town and Shitang town of Hengxian County in the south, Gantang town and Gula town in the west, Gula town and Wangling town in the north. The administrative area of Luwei town is 124.77 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, the population of Lu Wei registered residence was 39653.
In 1951, it belongs to the Fourth District of Yongchun County. In August 1952, Luwei township was designated as Binyang County, belonging to the 12th district. In 1958, Luwei Township and Gula Township merged to establish Hongqi commune. In 1961, Luwei commune was divided into Luwei commune and Baihe commune. In September 1968, it was changed into Gantang commune. In 1995, Luwei township was changed into Luwei town. As of June 2020, Luwei town has jurisdiction over one community and five administrative villages. The town people's government is located in Luling street, Luwei community.

In September 1968, it was changed into Gantang commune.
In 1995, Luwei township was changed into Luwei town.
