Yexie town is located in the middle and upper reaches of Huangpu River in the southwest of Shanghai. It borders Zhuangxing town of Fengxian District in the East, Tinglin town of Jinshan District in the south, xiangjiejing town in the West and Maogang town in the south, and Huangpu River in the north. In 2014, the total area of Yexie town was 72.54 square kilometers, including 6.86 square kilometers of water area and 60000 mu of cultivated land. By the end of 2017, there were 74557 permanent residents. It has 13 administrative villages, 3 communities, 376 villager groups and 56 resident groups. As of 2014, Songjiang District is the largest and most registered residence in the region.
In 2012, the total industrial and agricultural output value of Yexie town was 6.482 billion yuan, the total industrial output value was 6.079 billion yuan, the total agricultural output value was 403 million yuan, and the retail sales of social consumer goods was 100 million yuan. The added value was 2.832 billion yuan and the fiscal revenue was 152 million yuan.
In July 2020, it won the honorary title of national health Township from 2017 to 2019.
History of construction
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), nanwuzhuang and shisanbao No.1 of Baisha Township were assigned to Yexie township.
In 1933, Zhangze district was merged into Yexie District, which is the whole territory of Yexie and Zhangze districts.
In June 1947, Songjiang County merged districts and towns, and other Punan areas, such as Yexie, Zhangze and Tinglin, were subordinate to Punan district (the district governed Tinglin). Ye Xie and Zhang Ze established the town office.
In May 1949, Xinjian township was established.
In October 1949, Yexie Town Office was withdrawn and Yexie District People's government was established. At the end of November of the same year, Yexie district was transferred to Songjiang County, and zhangzefu was transferred to Yexie district.
In May 1955, Yexie district was abolished and changed to Songjiang County Pavilion forest area.
In August 1957, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, and Ye Xie and Zhang Ze townships were established. At the same time, Yexie and Zhangze townships are under the jurisdiction of Songjiang County.
In 1958, lighthouse and Qunli people's commune were established.
In 1959, it was renamed Yexie and Zhangze people's commune.
In 1984, the government and society were separated and the people's governments of Yexie and Zhangze townships were established.
In 1994, the township was removed to build a town and the people's governments of Yexie and Zhangze were rebuilt.
In January 2001, Yexie town and Zhangze town were abolished, and the two towns were integrated to establish a new Yexie town.
