Huangbu town

Huangbu town is located in the south of Longchuan County, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province, adjacent to Heshi town in the East, Tuocheng town in the west, Yetan Town, Dongyuan County, Nantong, and Zishi town in the north. It is 24 kilometers away from the county seat, with a total area of 56.14 square kilometers (2017).

It has jurisdiction over 6 village committees and 1 neighborhood community. The total population of the town is 11010 (2017).

The town's cultivated land area is 12699 mu, including 10450 mu of paddy field, 0.4 mu of paddy field per capita and 47761 mu of mountain forest per capita. In 2005, the town's total social output value was 21.21 million yuan, and the per capita annual income of farmers was 4919 yuan.

Evolution of organizational system

During the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, it was called jinyuyue. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was subordinate to Heshi commune, the third district of Longchuan County.

Huangbu commune was established from Heshi commune in May 1976.

It was renamed Huangbu District in 1983.

In October 1987, it was renamed Huangbu Town, where the town government was originally located at the South Gate of Jinyu village.

Moved to Weizhen in October 1993.
