Renshan town
Renshan Town, belonging to Huidong County, Huizhou City, Guangdong Province, got its name because the hills in the east of the polder were covered with Renshu. Renshan town is located in the northwest of Renping Peninsula in Huidong County, connecting Jilong town in the East, Tieyong and Xunliao in the southeast, Daya Bay in the south, Daya Bay Economic Development Zone in the west, Baihua town in the northwest and Pingshan Town in the north. It is one of the important coastal towns in Huidong County, with a total land area of 188.3 square kilometers.
Renshan town is close to the mountains and the sea, known as the "land of fish and rice". It is one of the first batch of central towns in Guangdong Province. It is the economic center of Renping Peninsula, which is the key development area of Huizhou City. It is the main distribution center of industrial and agricultural products in the coastal area of East Huizhou. In 2018, the registered residence population in NIM Shan town was 75884. In 2019, Renshan town governs 2 communities and 17 administrative villages.
In 2018, Renshan town achieved tax revenue of 1.316 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 55%; fixed asset investment of 4.9 billion yuan; infrastructure investment of 426 million yuan; industrial added value of 238 million yuan above Designated Size; and the turnover of wholesale and retail, accommodation and catering industry above Designated Size of 206 million yuan. It was ranked 769th among the top 1000 towns in China in 2018, 185th higher than that in 2017.
In 1958, Premier Zhou Enlai personally signed and awarded the honorary title of "advanced unit of agricultural socialist construction" to Renshan. In October 2019, Renshan town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".
Historical evolution
Before the Zhou Dynasty, some people lived in Renshan town.
After the Jin and Tang Dynasties, due to the war in the Central Plains, a large number of people were forced to move southward, and Renshan town became the residence of some Central Plains people.
In the first year of song Xiangxing (1278), Wen Tianxiang, the hero of the anti yuan war, moved his army from Lijiang Pu, Haifeng to Chuanao.
In the first year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1368), some people who escaped from debt in Chaoyang also came to Fanhe and lived in Renshan.
In Ming Dynasty, Renshan was the capital of Guishan county. In the early Qing Dynasty, both internal and external management were changed to internal and external management society, and Renshan belonged to external management society and peace treaty fort.
Renshanwei was built in 1673, the 12th year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty, and a fair of a certain scale was formed in Qianlong period.
During the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of the Department of peace Administration (the Department of peace administration was stationed in fanhegang, Renshan).
In 1931, Renshan township was established in Huiyang county.
In 1933, a district office was set up under Huidong County. Renshan is the 12th district of Huiyang county. The district office is located in Renshan, which governs 1 town (Renshan town), 11 townships (Fanhe Township, etc.).
In 1937, Renshan was the Sixth District of Huiyang county. The district office was located in Renshan, which has jurisdiction over 15 townships including Renshan town and Furong township.
In 1942, Renshan belonged to the Sixth District of Huiyang county (Grade B, with the District Office in Pinghai). It had jurisdiction over 16 townships and towns, with 178 Baojia.
In February 1949, Renshan Township established a people's Government under the administrative committee of Huizi district.
In May 1949, Huidong County People's government was established, and Renshan township government was transferred to Huidong County People's government.
In December 1949, Huidong was incorporated into Huiyang County, and Renshan was transferred to Huiyang county.
In June 1950, the eighth district (Renping District) was set up in Huiyang county. The district government was stationed in renshanwei, which has jurisdiction over 14 townships including Renshan, Pinghai and Jilong.
In November 1951, Huiyang county set up the 16th district (Renshan District). The district government was set up in renshanwei, which has jurisdiction over 17 towns.
In December 1957, the district was withdrawn to set up townships, and small townships were merged with large townships. Renshan Township and Tieyong Township were separated from the original Renshan township. Renshan township (Daxiang) governs 9 townships.
In April 1958, Huidong County was separated from Huiyang County, and Renshan township was under the jurisdiction of Huidong County. In October of the same year, Huiyang county and Huidong County merged into Huiyang County, the people's commune was established in the whole county, and Renshan Township and Tieyong Township merged into Renshan upstream people's commune.
In June 1961, Renshan district was established to govern eight small communes, and Renshan fishing and salt commune was established under the jurisdiction of the fishing and salt Working Committee.
In February 1963, the district level system was abolished and the small commune was merged with the large commune. The original Renshan commune was divided into Renshan commune and Renshan Yuyan commune.
In July 1965, Huidong County was separated from Huiyang County, Renshan commune and Renshan Yuyan commune were merged, and Tieyong commune was separated.
In May 1966, when the Cultural Revolution began, the military control commission and the leading group for promoting revolution and production replaced the party and government work of counties, communities and all administrative organs.
In March 1968, Renshan commune established a revolutionary committee to replace the leadership of the commune Party committee and Management Committee.
In January 1972, part of the jurisdiction of Renshan commune, Pinghai commune and Gangkou commune were set up to form Xunliao commune. Since then, the jurisdiction of Renshan commune has been stable.
In February 1981, Renshan commune reform committee was renamed Renshan commune management committee.
In November 1983, the establishment of the people's commune was abolished and Renshan district was established, with townships and towns under the district.
In March 1987, Renshan district was replaced by Renshan town.

Renshan town is a coastal mountainous and hilly area with diverse terrain. The terrain is high in the East and low in the West. In the south, it is adjacent to Daya Bay. Mountains and hills account for 58% of the land area. The north of Renshan town is connected with the mountains of baihualingkeng and tiemaguan in Pingshan. The southeast terrain is relatively flat, and the west is mostly contiguous and concentrated cultivated land. There are five peaks with an altitude of more than 500 meters in the territory. The highest peak is located in the inclined mountain (also known as Snake Mountain) on the east side of the town, with an altitude of 647 meters.

Renshan town is located in low latitude with long sunshine time. The annual average sunshine hours is 2013.3 hours, and the sunshine rate is 47%. According to the law of temperature, rainfall and other changes, as well as the terrain characteristics, Renshan is divided into the southern coastal low hills, cool in summer, warm in winter and rainy area. The annual average temperature is 21.1 ℃, the extreme minimum temperature is 0.3 ℃, the extreme maximum temperature is 37.5 ℃, and the average relative humidity is 79%. There is abundant rainfall in the town, with an average annual rainfall of 1920 mm. The spatial and temporal distribution of rainfall decreases from southeast to northwest. The annual rainfall is 3076.8 mm in wet season and 1552.1 mm in dry season.

There are six rivers in Renshan Town, including Baiyun, Zhuyuan, Shiqiao, Fanhe, daputun and yanzaobei. The total length of the river is 65.4 km. There are 12 main tributaries and the rainfall collection area is 109.4 km2. All of them belong to the coastal water system of eastern Guangdong. The water area of rivers, channels, reservoirs and reservoirs in the town is more than 10000 mu, and the total water storage capacity of reservoirs and ponds is more than 20 million cubic meters. It has 14 reservoirs (4 small type I and 10 small type II), with a rainfall collection area of 23.18 square kilometers and a total storage capacity of more than 16 million cubic meters.

There are more than 100 kinds of common economic fishes in the sea area. With a mariculture area of 20000 mu, it is rich in more than 20 kinds of high-quality seafood, such as grouper, red chicken, perch, pomfret, yellow croaker, oyster clam, shrimp and crab. It is the main Township and important production base of oyster and clam in Huidong County. In addition, the freshwater aquaculture area is 2300 mu, mainly including eel, osmanthus, freshwater pomfret, tilapia and more than 10 varieties. It is distributed in the southeast of the town, covering an area of 28700 mu, and is the main traditional salt producing area in Huidong.

Transportation
Renshan town is located in Huidong coastal hub, with good geographical conditions and superior infrastructure. Shenzhen Xiamen railway, Guangshan highway, Shenshan expressway, Huishen Coastal Expressway and the East extension of Guanghui Expressway under construction form a crisscross traffic network in Renshan. Shenzhen Xiamen Railway set up Huidong passenger and freight station in Renshan. There are 55 kilometers of grade roads in the town, including 21 kilometers of grade II roads and 34 kilometers of grade III roads. The hard bottoming project of the roads connecting the town to the administrative villages has been completed, and more than 90% of the roads in the natural villages have been hard bottomed. The provincial greenway No.2 has been built and put into use. There are two agricultural wharves in yapojiao, Fanhe and Qingzhou. The waterways can reach Daya Bay, Guangzhou, Shantou, Hong Kong and Macao.
