Jieshan town
Jieshan town is located in the north of Quangang District, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province. It used to belong to minsuli, the mountain township of Huian County, Quanzhou City. It is the location of the northern industrial zone of Fujian Petrochemical Base under planning and construction. It is one of the north gates under the actual jurisdiction of Quanzhou City and recorded by the State Council. It is the town under the jurisdiction of Xinghua government in the eyes of people in Puxian county and the first stop for immigrants from Puxian county to move south. The popular dialect in Jieshan town is Dinglu dialect, which is dominated by Puxian dialect and supplemented by Huian dialect. The popular one is the border custom, which is supplemented by Puxian dialect and Huian dialect. Jieshan town is adjacent to Dahai in the East, Tuling town in the west, Nanpu town in the South and Fengting town in the north. Jieshan town is one of the demonstration towns of new socialist countryside construction in Quanzhou City.
Tang Wude first year (618), belongs to Jianzhou Nan'an county. Tang Wude five years (622), is Fengzhou Nan'an county. In the second year of Tang Shengli (699), it belonged to Nan'an county and Xianyou County of Wurong Prefecture. Tang Kaiyuan six years (718), belong to Quanzhou Jinjiang County, Xianyou County. In the sixth year of the Song Dynasty (979), it belonged to Hui'an County of Quanzhou and Xianyou County of Xinghua army. According to the records of lianjiangli written by Zheng Delai, a native of Fengting in Xianyou County, during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty (1552-1560), six natural villages, Nanzhuang, Gangxi, Dongqiu, cangcuo, jiejietang and kezhai (now Jiulin and Jieshan), were transferred from lianjiangli, Tang'an Township, Xianyou County, to minsulitianqipu, Zhongshu Township, Hui'an County. In 1737, it belonged to liangxingpu and tianqipu, respectively. After liberation, it belonged to Nanpu town of Hui'an County. In 1999, Jieshan town was set up in the north of Nanpu town. In April 2000, Jieshan town was designated as Quangang District of Quanzhou City.
In 2017, Jieshan town had an administrative area of 30 square kilometers, 4220 hectares, and 45334 permanent residents. It has jurisdiction over 13 administrative villages and 202 villager groups. Jieshan town has very convenient traffic conditions. National Highway 324, Fuquan expressway, Fuxia high-speed railway and coastal channel run through the whole town. It is adjacent to shage wanton Wharf in the East and Zhangquan Xiaozhou railway in the south. It is an important channel for north-south traffic in the coastal area of central Fujian.
