Xinliao town

Xinliao town is located on xinliao island in the northeast of Xuwen County, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province. Historical evolution

Xinliaowei was formed in the late Qing Dynasty. It is said that before the Ming Dynasty, xinliao town was a desert island. At the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, Putian people from Fujian Province drifted to this island. They made a living by fishing in shallow water and settled in caoliniao, so they called xinliao island. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it belonged to Yanhe Township, Haikang County, and tiaofeng Township in the early years of the Republic of China.
