Shuanghe town

Shuanghe Town, belonging to Heshan City, Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, is located in the west of Heshan City, bordering Genghe Town, Gaoming District, Cangcheng Town, Kaiping City and shuitai Town, Xinxing County, with an area of 123.46 square kilometers. By the end of 2016, Shuanghe town had a total population of more than 20000.

As of June 2020, Shuanghe town has one community and four administrative villages.

Historical evolution

In October 1949, Heshan county set up a people's Government of four districts and one town. Shuanghe town is under the jurisdiction of the fourth district government, which is located in Wujing village.

From May 1952 to June 1954, there were nine districts and one town in Gaohe County, and Shuanghe town was the ninth district government.

In June 1957, the district system was abolished and Shuanghe Township People's Committee was formed by merging Sihe, Daping, synthetic and Shuangqiao villages.

In October 1958, Shuanghe township was incorporated into Zhaiwu commune.

In April 1959, from Zhaiwu commune, Shuangqiao, Sihe, Daping and other brigades were set up to establish Shuanghe people's commune.

In August 1983, Shuanghe people's commune system was abolished and Shuanghe District Office was established.

In January 1987, Shuanghe Township People's government was established.

In November 1988, Shuanghe township was abolished and Shuanghe town was established.

In January 2002, the former synthetic town was abolished and its administrative region was merged into Shuanghe town (the synthetic overseas Chinese farm in Guangdong Province was retained). After the merger of the two towns, 2 residential committees and 9 village committees were administered. The total area is 149.4 square kilometers, with a total population of 20384 people, including 19815 registered residence population. The people's Government of Shuanghe town is located in the seat of the former synthetic town government.

In June 2004, Shuanghe town adjusted the size of the villagers' committee. The former Qufeng and Qingfeng Village Committees were merged into Xianqing village committee, and the former Chuantang, Fenghuang, Shuangshi, Lianqun and Rongshu village committees were merged into a composite village committee.

Shuanghe town is a hilly and mountainous area, with the lowest altitude of 27.2 meters. The highest peak is Yunsu mountain, with an altitude of 680 meters. Yunsushan, yazishi

Yunsu mountain is located in the east of Shuanghe Town, 637 meters above sea level. It is a famous mountain in the west of Heshan and a paradise for many outdoor sports lovers. The city wall is composed of thousands of stones of different sizes, all of which are granite, just like a stone city.
