Hengqin town

Hengqin town is a town under the jurisdiction of Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, China, located in the south of Zhuhai City. Hengqin town and Hengqin Economic Development Zone are managed by the same government agency. The largest island in Hengqin town is Hengqin Island, which is also the largest island in Zhuhai. Hengqin Island is connected with Zhuhai City by Hengqin bridge and Macao by Lianhua bridge.

On November 29, 2019, it was selected into the list of forest towns in Guangdong Province.

In July 2020, the National Patriotic Health Association confirmed Hengqin town as a national health Township in 2019.

There are 9 completed projects in the area, including Shibo Park, Ocean Park, Sandiequan scenic spot, Tianhu scenic spot and Hengqin oyster ecological park, covering an area of 1.2417 million m2, with a total investment of 310 million yuan; there are 2 under construction projects, including Oriental golf course and CNOOC natural gas terminal treatment plant, covering an area of 2.18 million m2, with a total investment of 1.15 billion yuan.

The signed projects include Hengqin Venetian International Convention and Exhibition resort, Hengqin eco-tourism leisure resort, high-tech industrial park infrastructure development, nigoshi electronics, wind power generation and Jianghai Hotel, covering an area of 17.36 million m2, with a total investment of 17.58 billion yuan.

There are 28 projects under discussion, including American Dawei group, MGM Hotel, Ferris wheel amusement theme park, international film and Television City, Toyo communications, oasis capsule, Dongxin Heping high tech project and Pan Pearl logistics headquarters base, involving a total investment of more than 50 billion yuan.

Orientation of future industrial development

At the end of 2004, Guangdong Province has proposed to establish Hengqin Island in Zhuhai as a "Pan Pearl River Delta Hengqin Economic Cooperation Zone" (9 + 2 "Cooperation Zone), as an important carrier for the development of Pan Pearl River Delta regional cooperation, an important platform for the implementation of CEPA by the state and an important base for the mainland to participate in international division of labor and cooperation. This idea has been unanimously approved and positively responded by "9 + 2" members, and also affirmed and supported by central leaders. Beijing China International Investment Consulting Co., Ltd. has been invited to complete the project proposal of Hengqin Economic Cooperation Zone in the Pan Pearl River Delta, which has entered the approval stage. In order to speed up the promotion of the "9 + 2" Cooperation Zone, the provincial government invested more than 20 million yuan at the end of last year to prepare the Hengqin master plan.
