Zuowei Town, subordinate to Huai'an County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, is located in the northeast of Huai'an County, bordering jiangjiatun township of Xuanhua District in the East and south, Taipingzhuang Township and liutuen Township in the west, Wanquan County in the north and Zhangjiakou City in the northeast. It is 25.5km away from the people's government of Huai'an County, with a total area of 271.79km2.
During the period of the Republic of China, Zuowei town belonged to the Fourth District of Huai'an County; in 1984, it was changed from Dongfanghong commune to Zuowei town. As of June 2020, Zuowei town has 33 administrative villages and the people's Government of Zuowei town is located in Jinquan street.

History of construction
During the period of the Republic of China, Zuowei town belonged to the Fourth District of Huai'an county.
In 1949, it was the Sixth District of Huai'an county.
In 1958, Dongfanghong commune was established.
In 1984, Dongfanghong commune was changed into Zuowei town.
In February 1996, qiaojiafang Township and Zhengwangzhuang Township were merged into Zuowei town.
