Liuhua Street

Liuhua street, full name: Liuhua street, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, located in the north of Yuexiu District, east to Guangzhou TV Tower, Huanshi Middle Road, Liuhua street is adjacent to Hongqiao street and Tianhe District; South to the east gate of liuhuahu Park, Renmin North Road, intersects with Dongfeng Street; West to Huanshi West Road, in front of Guangzhou 103 middle school, connected with Liwan District; north to guihuagang, Jiefang North Road, Liuhua street, Yuexiu District It is connected with Baiyun District. It has jurisdiction over six communities, namely guihuagang, guihuayuan, railway station, liuhuaqiao, Lanpu and Huaguoshan.

First community (guihuagang community)

It belongs to the type of unit dormitory, belonging to the marginal community. It is located in guihuagang, north to Guihua Road (bordering Baiyun District), South to the railway, east to the wall of guihuagang campus of Guangzhou University, West to Jiefang North Road, covering an area of 0.152 square kilometers. There are dormitories of the Municipal Public Security Bureau, the municipal automobile company, the Municipal Culture Bureau, the provincial basic company, Liuhua Hotel and some housing management stations in the community. There are 1961 households in this community, with 6230 residents, 3842 permanent residents and 1087 floating population; there are 600 cadres and workers in Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Troupe, provincial foundation company and other units.

Second community (Guihua community)

It is a unit type community with culture and education as its main content. The community covers an area of 0.05 square kilometers, with guihuagang campus of Guangzhou University, including Guangzhou railway No.1 company. There are two units in guihuagang campus of Guangzhou University and Guangzhou railway No.1 company. There are 426 households, 3952 residents, 4046 permanent residents and 100 floating population in this community.

Third community (Huaguoshan community)

Based on the unit dormitory, it belongs to the marginal community. The community is located in Huaguo Mountain, north to Feieling peak, South to Huanshi Middle Road, east to Feieling watershed (bordering Tianhe District), West to Jiefang North Road, covering an area of 0.259 square kilometers. There are 694 households and 1316 residents in this community, but there are 1338 permanent residents in this community because there is a temporary building in the Municipal Bureau of landscape architecture; there are 6200 staff and cadres from Guangzhou TV station, Guangzhou Radio Station, Guangzhou shooting club and other units; there are also new Huaguo villa residential area and buildings to be built in this community It is estimated that there will be an increase of about 1000 households in the garden, so there will be 665 households and 2476 residents in the future. The fourth community (railway station square community)

It is a comprehensive type of transportation, residence, commerce, tourism and sports. With Guangzhou railway station as the center, the community extends to railway station in the north, zhannan road in the south, Jiefang North Road in the East and provincial bus station (bordering Liwan District) in the west, covering an area of 0.519 square kilometers. There are 352 households with 1782 residents and 1777 permanent residents who rent houses in this community. There are 1125 residents in the community, including Guangzhou Army General Hospital, Guangzhou Tourism Service Bureau and Dongfang Hotel dormitory, with a resident population of 3305 (excluding soldiers); there are 6421 permanent residents who are engaged in business in major clothing wholesale malls and rent houses here; there are three clothing wholesale centers in the community, namely Xindadi Hotel, China Merchants Hotel, Kangle building, Guangkong building and Xindadi Shopping malls, with a floating population of 28000.

Sixth community (Lanpu community)

It is a comprehensive type of residence, business travel and culture. The community is located in Huanshi West Road in the north, Dongfang Hotel in the south, Taiji square in Jiefang North Road in the East and Renmin North Road in the west, covering an area of 0.5 square kilometers. There are only 47 households with a population of 1292 (including 7 collective households with a population of 936). There are Oriental Hotel, China Hotel, trade fair, Friendship Theater, ether square and other comprehensive service facilities integrating catering, tourism, commerce and entertainment, as well as Lanpu Park, ancient tombs of Islamic sages and sports building under construction, with a floating population of 17634.

The origin of the name

This geomantic treasure land is named after the Liuhua ancient bridge in the Southern Han Dynasty. Liuhua sub district office of Yuexiu District People's government was established in September of the same year according to the decision of Guangzhou municipal Party committee. The name at that time was Liuhua Street Revolutionary Committee. The first people to take part in the preparation are Wang qiashi, Liu SHISU, bell tower, Chen Tianzhuang and others. The office is located at the entrance of both sides of the provincial bus station. It borrowed a small house as an office, without office desks and chairs (borrowed from the district). Later, in order to facilitate the masses, the office was moved to No. 11, 3rd Street, guihuagang. In 1980, when the new office building was completed, it was moved to 84 Zhanqian Road (1-3 floors). In 2000, it moved to its location: No. 8, guihuagang South Street, Jiefang North Road, Guangzhou.

In the early Republic of China, Liuhua sub district of Yuexiu District was just a few villages, vegetable fields, swamps and hills, and there were many graves on the mountains. In the early days of the people's Republic of China, this area was quiet and desolate. In 1955, the Sino Soviet friendship building was built near liuhuaqiao, a window for Guangzhou people to know the outside world. With the completion of Guangzhou railway station and provincial passenger station and the relocation of China Export Commodities Fair from Haizhu Square to the former Sino Soviet friendship building, Liuhua area has become the transportation hub and trade center of Guangzhou.

Since the reform and opening up, Liuhua street has built a new China Hotel, Liuhua Hotel, expanded the Oriental Hotel, and the emergence of Baima, Tianma, Liuhua and other large clothing wholesale markets, making it the "Golden Triangle" of the city. However, among the people with a daily passenger flow of at least 200000 and at most several million, there are also social dregs engaged in drug trafficking, drug abuse, smuggling, swindlers and even murderers, which cast the shadow of a "black triangle" over this area. After more than ten years of hard work, especially after "one small change in one year" and "one medium change in three years", the social security situation in Liuhua area has obviously improved, and the environmental construction has taken on a new look. The era when talking about railway stations and provincial bus passenger stations is like talking about "bandits" is gone forever.

In 2001, the Party Working Committee and office street of Liuhua street in Yuexiu District, taking the "Ninth National Games" as the driving force, strengthened the urban management, resolutely removed the "two illegal" buildings, carried out comprehensive renovation and "put on clothes and hats", and fully completed the "medium change" task. In 2001, a total of 47348 square meters of anti-theft net area, 3683 households, 148 illegal buildings, 6673 square meters, 3600 square meters of green area and 384 trees were renovated. Guihuagang has been rated as "safe and civilized community of Guangzhou" in 1994, and has become a bright spot in "small change" and "medium change". It has built the first green maintenance spray facilities in the District, repaired streets and paved roads with an area of 15500 square meters, and completed 92 buildings of "dressing and wearing hats" decoration work in the community. The newly-built green corridor is a beautiful scenic spot in guihuagang community, with clean roads and green grass everywhere. It is a place for residents to live and work in peace and contentment.
