Caogoubu Township, belonging to Yu County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, is located in the southeast of Yu County, adjacent to Zhuolu county and Laishui County in the East and Southeast, Laiyuan County in the south, Songjiazhuang town in the West and nanyangzhuang Township in the north. It is 58.2km away from Yu County People's Government, with a total area of 471.05km2.
In 1948, caogoupu Township belonged to 13 districts of Yu County; in 1984, caogoupu commune was changed into caogoupu township. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in the village was 13398. As of June 2020, 35 administrative villages are under the jurisdiction of caogoupu village, and the Township People's government is stationed in caogoupu village.

History of construction
In 1948, caogoubu Township belonged to the thirteen districts of Yu County.
In 1953, there were taojiaxiaozhuang, baizhuangzi, dongzhuangzi, caozhuangzi and nanshaiquan.
In 1956, it belonged to caogoubu, wangxidong and caozhuangzi townships.
In 1958, it belonged to daiwangcheng commune.
In 1961, caogoubu commune was established from daiwangcheng commune.
In 1984, it was changed from caogoupu commune to caogoupu township.
In 1995, alfalfa Township and dongxinghe Township were merged into caogoubo township.
