The sub district office was founded in October 1953. Formerly known as the ninth Office of Changshu District People's government. It starts from xiaomuqiao road in the East, ends at Jinji road in the West (now Wanping South Road), Longhua Road in the South (now Zhongshan South 2nd Road), and Xiexiu road in the North (now Zhaojiabang Road). At the beginning of the Republic of China, the Hokkaido Yin Office of the Beiyang government negotiated with the Jiangsu special mission to set the office on Jiaotong Road (now Pingjiang Road).
