Yanlong Township

Yanlong belongs to Hongjiang City, Hunan Province. It is located in the northwest of Hongjiang City. It is connected with Hongyan Township and Qiancheng town in the East, Jiangshi town across Yuanjiang River in the south, Yuanhe town in the West and luobutian Township in Zhijiang County in the north, with a total land area of 66.3 square kilometers (2017). It is 14 km long from east to west. The township has 13 administrative villages, 145 villager groups and a total population of 15113 (2017).

Historical evolution

Before the founding of new China, it was Yanlong township. After the founding of new China, it belonged to five districts (Qiancheng District). Yanlong township was established in 1956, Yanlong Township People's commune was established in 1958, and Yanlong Township People's government has been established since October 1984.

natural condition

The whole territory is 14 km long from east to west and 16 km wide from north to south. It is surrounded by mountains on three sides and water on one side. The territory is high in the northwest and bottom in the southeast. It is a hilly area. The highest point is in jiefengling, Jiangqiu village, with an altitude of 556 meters. The lowest point is at the junction of Yuanshui and Qiancheng Town, with an altitude of 182 meters. It is a subtropical monsoon humid climate with mild climate, abundant rainfall and sunshine. The annual average temperature is 17 ℃ The annual rainfall is 1275.4 mm.

natural resources

The township has 20244.5 mu of arable land, 4896.6 mu of forest land, 59.2% of forest coverage, 54232 cubic meters of standing trees, 30315 mu of material forest, 33960 mu of jijilin and 147 mu of Nanzhu. It is rich in mineral resources, mainly coal and lime carbon, especially coal reserves, good coal quality and high calorific value. There are 12 streams and streams, 2 small type I reservoirs, 3 small type II reservoirs, 584 backbone ponds, with a total water storage of 10.17 million cubic meters, divided into two irrigation areas.
