Tianwan town is one of the eight towns in Chenxi County. Located in the northeast of Chenxi County. It borders Xiaoping Town, Banqiao Township, Chengjiao Township and Yuanling County. The total population was 7525 (2017). The total area is 91.33 square kilometers (2017).

Tianwan town contains eight villages: Tianwan village, Nongke village, Puli village, Yangmei village, zhangzaoxi village, fengxiangtang village, Xuanchang village and Roli village. Tianwan is high in the East and low in the West. The East is mountainous, and the northwest is plain. Chenxi is now an important forestry town. Tianwan town is rich in mineral resources. There are coal, phosphate, lead new mine, as well as lime mine. Tianwan is a big agricultural town. The annual output of grain is 5 million tons. The per capita income is 2400 yuan. Tianwan town is located in the northwest of Chenxi County, bordering Yuanling County in the East, and adjacent to suburban township, Xiaoping Town, Banqiao Township and Chuanxi township of the county. Provincial highway s223 passes through the border, so the traffic location advantage is obvious. The town has a total area of 91.33 square kilometers (2017), 13 administrative villages and 1 neighborhood committee, with a total population of 7525 people (2017). The existing cultivated land area is 7634 mu, of which the paddy field area is 6013 mu. The territory of alpine forest, rich in forest resources, is one of the main forest areas in the county. The climate is mild and humid, rich in mineral resources, including coal, phosphorus, lead-zinc, silicon and other minerals. At present, there are 4 licensed coal mines, 3 lead-zinc mines, 1 cement plant, 1 nine-year school and 1 high-quality navel orange base.
