Wuqiangxi town is located in the northeast of Yuanling County, bordering Taoyuan County of Changde City in the East and North. Wuqiangxi Hydropower Station, a national key project, is an economic and populous town formed by the merger of Wuqiangxi Town, Liulincha Township, Gaoping and huangtuping villages in 2004.
