Nanshi town

Nanshi town is located in the north of Lanshan County, 16 kilometers away from tafeng town. The town covers a total area of 90.5 square kilometers (2017), with 1312.4 hectares of arable land and 34500 people (2017). The territory is rich in groundwater resources, many hills and reservoirs, rich in peanuts, yellow flowers, tea oil, soybeans.

Historical evolution

It is said that before liberation, the area from Nan City to Ci city was rich in high-quality Phoebe. It used to build a bridge with Phoebe, named Phoebe bridge. Later, it built a market here and changed its name to Nan City. Before liberation, it was Beiping township. In 1950, it built Nanshi township. In 1958, it merged with Zhengshi Township and Hongguan Township and renamed Hongxing commune. In 1961, it restored Nanshi commune. In 1986, it established Nanshi town. In 1995, it merged with Zhengshi Township and named Nanshi town.
